THIS n THAT

Wow - thanks for all the encouraging comments yesterday! I also wanted to tell you about my awesome supper I had last night. I made "healthy" pizza, similar to NS but on my own - here is how it went:

1 Whole wheat pita = 140cals

2Tbsp of pizza sauce = approx. 10cals

loaded with veggies - green pepper/ red pepper/mushrooms/ red onion/ black olives/ hot banana peppers

1/4 cup of Skim Mozza cheese = 80cals

Set oven to broil and bake till cheese is melted and starts to turn brown.

Total calorie intake = about 250 cals

I wish I would have taken a picture of it to post but after I took one bite I couldn't stop, It was Deelish with a capital D !! ;) I will definitely be having more of these! Not only is the pita bigger then the NS pizza crust it tasted better and was easier to pile the veggies on. As suggested by fellow NS member Jordanna that maybe next time I should add a little more protein by adding some chicken or ham to the pizza. Great idea Jordanna - I'll definitely try that next time!
Well the inlaws called from Mexico (again), they are enjoying their trip and said that today they are going on THIS pirate ship dinner cruise! It sounds super fun and I am entirely jealous of them! LOL Next time maybe we can go together cause it sounds like they are having a blast! The hubby talked to them while I was on my walk so when I got home he informed me how his mom was introduced to "maui wowi's" and THAT she had so many of them it led to her getting a tattoo! I almost fainted she is not the type of person to go get a tattoo but then I thought the same thing about my dad and he came back from Mexico with one - so who knows! After I finished my little freak out about how his mom and dad got matching tattoos the hubby told me they were just fake ones - rub on's or something! I nearly had a heart attack! LOL Little jerk scared me !
Jordanna asked me this morning what pedometer I had and as I reached in my pocket to make sure I spelt Omron correct I realized that I had forgotten my pedometer at home!! WTH ?? I thought I learned my lesson last time I forgot that silly thing at home! GRRR I'm kinda mad at myself now but at least it is bowling night so I won't be doing too much walking today (unlike last time).

Yesterday I wrote about some ingredients in my new cookbook that I had no idea of what they were so I googled them. I ended up finding a pretty good website when I googled "tahini" it was full of info not only on tahini but other stuff too! If your also curious about tahini (which BTW is about the only thing on that list I made yesterday that I would even consider eating!) you should check out THIS website!!
Yesterday I also wanted to write about a "male moment" I had but didn't want the post to be too long so I saved it for today. A male moment is what some people also refer to as a "brain fart", so here is my example of a male moment! Yesterday I started my car in the morning to let it warm up for a few minutes before I go to work, after I started it I used my spare set of keys to lock the doors - just in case, and go back in the house to stay warm. After about 15min I decide it is time to go to work so I grab my lunch bag lock the door and close it. Realizing after I had locked and closed the door that I had forgotten to grab my spare set of keys!! So now not only am I locked out of the house I am also locked out of my car which is still running on the driveway! It's a good thing I had my cell phone cause I quickly called the hubby and told him he HAD to come home to rescue me!! DUH ! So he rushes home as I wait out side in the cold waiting, he pulls up laughing and lets me in the house ! Not a very good start to the day! ;)
Here is something THAT I thought was fun, I got 18 (smarter then the average bear!) - check it out! ;)

Thursday THIS n THAT

My nachos last night were fabulous! Hubby made them for me and probably put too many on the plate and added way too much cheese but boy were they ever yummy!! I almost ate all of them, weighed myself this morning to see just how much damage super cheesy nachos did and it was pretty bad! I gained 1.6lbs! The good news is that I have an entire week to work that off !

Yesterday morning I tried to be all sneaky and put his V-day gift in the cereal cupboard - it was a alarm clock that looks like a drag racing tree and has lights on it that count down. When the green light goes there is a sound of a engine revving and taking off! He seemed to like it but it's pretty loud so I don't think we will be using it in the bedroom, we will save it for a basement decoration! So when I got home last night he also tried to be sneaky and put my V-day gift in the snack cupboard and asked me to get the nacho chips for him, inside the cupboard I found a Tickle me Elmo the new one ! It is so cute, makes me laugh every time! LOL

I found an awesome website yesterday that has almost every restaurant's nutrition value of items on their menu's. So if you are going out to dinner or if you are curious like I was to see just how bad you used to eat, you should check out THIS website. I looked up a typical meal for me before my diet, I was amazed ! Here is my example:

~A&W~

This would be my typical meal, I would probably eat this at least once a week.....
Mozza burger = 560 cals, 36g Fat
Onion rings = 500 cals, 30g Fat
Reg. size Strawberry milk shake = 1070 cals, 29g Fat

This equals = 2130 cals and 95g of Fat !! This is almost two days worth of calories and an unbelievable amount of fat! This would only be one meal too, I would also have breakfast and lunch/ supper and probably some snacks throughout the day too! Unbelievable! So if you are planning on going out for dinner and you are counting calories or just trying to eat a little healthier you need to look at that website!

I watched the season finale of Beauty and the Geek last night, I was pleased with who won the $250,000. There was one girl that clearly had not learned a thing from the experience and I did not want her to win but her partner was a pretty cool guy, too bad for him that he had such a horrible self centered partner! Another one of my favorite shows is going to be starting there next season soon. I watched every show last season and plan to do the same for this season (season 11). Although I'm not too happy THAT it is a "return of previous players" episode!? I don't really care for some of the players they had before and I think they obviously didn't win for a reason, why put them on the show again!? But I will still watch every episode starting this Sun!

Today I have a NSV, not a very happy one though, I can no longer wear my wedding band!! :( It is just way too big and I am worried that I might loose it. I was wearing it on my middle finger but it's just not the same, so off it comes until I get close enough to my goal to get it sized smaller. Today is also my dad's birthday!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD !! :) I'm not sure how old he is!? Probably around 55? We are going out for dinner on Saturday to Red Lobster to celebrate.

THIS n THAT

A few months ago on my way home from work I noticed that a scrapbook store out here in the Park was going out of business and everything was on sale ! Now usually I get all my scrapbook stuff from Creative Memories but I thought I would check this store out and see if they had any good deals. I ended up picking up some new stencils, stickers and I thought I would try a "rub-on"!? I've seen these rub-ons before at places like Michael's and other corner scrapbook stores but Creative Memories doesn't offer them. I used one on the scrapbook I'm making for my dad - it was amazing!! OMG why hadn't I found THIS out sooner! I would have used them in all my scrapbooks! It looked so good, if you enjoy doing a little scrap booking you have got to try these !!

I tried my bathing suit on last night and it actually fit really good? Which leads me to believe that it must have looked like crap before! It was definitely not the right size for me when I was bigger?! I have another bathing suit that I also wanted to try on but I couldn't find it, now I'm trying to remember when I wore it last? It's been so long since I've worn it that I can't remember, plus my memory is the sh*ts anyway! LOL I'm actually really excited to go swimming this weekend, I was a little unsure if I even wanted to go at first but now I'm kinda looking forward to it!

There was a meeting last night for the racetrack but I never went, instead I took the dog for her walk and watched Beauty and the Geek! All the meeting was about was street legals and some people had to take their tech test. It sounds like they don't need me to work Sat and Sunday's, just Friday nights, so that's kinda good/ bad. It means more time for me on weekends but less money!

I can't really think of anything for the THAT part of today, so I thought if you want to know a little more about me you can check out my jobs website!

THIS n THAT

So tomorrow is Groundhog Day! How exciting, everyone waits to hear if a furry little rodent tells us how much longer winter is going to last?! Apparently THIS is a very special day around the world! So here is to hoping that the little guy won't see his shadow and winter will be over! I think I'm wintered out and I would be very happy to see some green.

I watched Beauty and the Geek again last night, I love THAT show and wish I would have watched it from the beginning! :( I think they are looking for people for the next season so I will have to pay attention to when season 2 starts and watch from the beginning! I thought the show would be really cheesy and all the beauty queens would make fun of the geeks and treat them horrible but it isn't really like that at all! One of the beauties actually has a crush on one of the geeks! I'm not too sure yet if she is just leading him on or if she actually has feelings for him? My favorite geek is Scooter!

So I'm planning a "cheat day" -- Valentine's Day! I already told the hubby what I want for my "romantic" dinner on the 14th! Nachos, yup that's right .... nachos.... hmmm - I can hardly wait, I'm so excited!! :) I actually don't think they will be that bad for my diet, I found some corn/ nacho chips that only have 250 cals per serving and a serving size is 32 chips! That should be plenty of chips for a meal! And the fat and all the other stuff on the label weren't too bad either (I can't remember the numbers), so I figure if I save a dairy serving for my supper and get some Low Fat cheese and load on the veggies (green peppers, tomatoes, hot peppers and olives for my fat). They really shouldn't be too bad?! I have only been able to find Low Fat Mozza cheese is that all you can get in low fat cheese, is mozza ???

One day cheat free!
Yesterday's step count =7634
I finally had one day 100% on plan! Yeah - one down nine to go ! Yesterday I tried a few more new NS meals, for supper yesterday I had the Chicken Fajita, I realized after I started making it that the tortilla shells we had bought we really high in calories, 200 cals per shell! I hope there are lower calorie shells out there and maybe I should go pick some up before I decide to have them again. Who would have thought that a skinny little piece of flat bread would have so many calories!? I'm not sure if I like the fajita, they were really spicy at first and I'm not sure I cared for the sauce that was on them? It was ok for something different and easy to make but I think next time I would rather just grill my own chicken breast and add some peppers to it and leave out the sauce. For breakfast this morning I tried the Apple toaster pastry, it was small (but I already knew it would be). I toasted it in the toaster oven but it never did get "toasted" ? It wasn't as sweet as I thought it would be and it actually did fill me up. I think I will get this one again but I don't think I would get it too often because it is so high in sugar.

All the Scottish readers probably already know THIS but it is a big day in Scotland. I have Scottish heritage in my family and I have celebrated this day before it is a fun day to celebrate. To all the readers with Scottish heritage - Happy Robbie Burns Day!

Did you watch American Idol last night? They were in New York and there were a lot of weirdo's that tried to audition, especially the one THAT knew she couldn't sing but thought they could teach her!? And she was so happy to be "unique" ? WTH ??

I finished picking up all the prizes for the baby shower on Sun and wrapped them last night. I'm so exited - I'm sure everyone that wins will love getting a picture of Kenzie and I always feel good about giving a gift that people actually like! I hate giving gifts that are usless and end up being a "recycled" gift.

************* Don't forget to pin yourself on my guest map! It's starting to fill up a bit I would like to see more little people on it ;) Oh, and there is a new blog in town, one of my good friends you should check her out and leave a nice welcome comment if you have time ;) **********

Thursday THIS n THAT

I am absolutely thrilled by the number of comments I received yesterday! I love getting comments, thank you to everyone for leaving such nice words! ;)

I volunteered to host my niece's baby shower and was searching the net for fun games. I came across a couple really cute and simple ones that I think I will use, "My water broke" and "Dirty Diaper"! I can't wait, I am thinking about handing out pictures (in frames) of Kenzie as the prizes. I was at a shower last year where they did this as the prize and thought it was a super good idea! Now I just have to wait for my brother to e-mail me a few pic's so I can get them developed! I also have a baby shower to go to this Sat. for one of the hubbies cousin's, she had a baby boy on Friday, 6lbs 5oz and named him Ryder!? Maybe they will have some good ideas at it too? I love babies hopefully by the time I loose all this weight and get to goal we will start trying to get pregnant and maybe by 2008 we will have one of our own! I'm getting old you know (29) and getting pregnant at an older age has more health risks! I know it is possible but I really don't want to be 35 and popping out babies, crap if that happened I would be 55 with a 20 year old probably still living at home!? No thanks!

I forgot to post my step count for the 16th, it was 7571 and for yesterday we went to hubbies aunts house for her birthday so I never got my daily walk in which therefore only made my step count 3621 for the day. And since tonight is bowling night I don't expect a very high count for today either! Oh well! ;)

Has anyone else been watching THIS show? Last night was so flippin funny, they were in Seattle and only got 7 contestants cause everyone else sucked! LOL I can't understand how some of these people just don't see why they didn't make it to Hollywood! It's like they actually think they can sing!? Too funny! Yesterday I didn't eat my afternoon dairy/protein snack, so for supper I had NS lasagna with meat sauce. Put a little shredded cheese on it and baked it in the oven! OMG it was to die for! amazing, so good! Just like you would have in a restaurant! Did I already say it was yummy!? he he

Sometimes I like to check out this website THAT is for women who are TTC. It is also full of women's health suggestions and topics, so if you are TTC you may be interested!?

Thursday This n' That ! :)

So it looks like winter has hit us again, the roads are treacherous and the snow is knee deep!! It took the hubby two hours to shovel our driveway last night and that was using the quad with a snow plow on it! I took the dog for a walk last night but it was a really quick walk due to the sub zero temperatures (-30C). I was only able to get 4714 steps in for the day and since tonight is bowling night I don't imagine my step count today will be much better?!

I watched a new reality show last night and actually really enjoyed it but I have missed the first few episodes?! Has anyone else seen THIS show? I found it quite humorous and wish I would have started watching it from the first episode!

I am so determined to get into Onederland next week that I am going to push myself just a little harder this week. I found this on the web and hope THAT it will help me get out of the 200's! Hopefully all the rest of you are still managing to keep your resolutions (if you made one).

This n' That

I was finally able to go shopping last night after work and almost finished all my Christmas shopping. Yah! I find it so hard to buy for men, girls are so much easier to buy for! So I didn't get home till 6:30, had dinner and then The Biggest Loser was on so I never ended up taking the dog for her walk. That's two days in a row (cause Tues. was grocery shopping day) but I still got my walking exercise just not the dog and boy is she driving me nuts! I need to take her tonight even though it is bowling Thursday and I don't have much time after supper before we go bowling. Today I found THIS and I found to be quite interesting because... a) NS is based on a Low GI diet and b) because I want babies soon! So this is good news for me or anyone else that wants babies someday. For the THAT part of today I thought another fun quiz would be good but couldn't figure out how to link it to the word so here you go!

Your Christmas Stocking Will Be Filled With a Puppy
Well - one cute, soft, cuddly puppy...And a very soiled Christmas stocking.

This n' That.....

It has been snowing all day ..... it is amazing at how much has come down I would estimate at least 6 inches in the past 4 hours? The roads are apparently really bad and I'm dreading the drive home!
Today I wanted to share THIS blog that is totally unrelated to weight loss, NS or even getting healthy but it is an excellent blog that has won Bobby Griffin's bestest blog of the day on Nov.20/06. It is a very well written and I think highly interesting blog by a girl only 16 years old! I also wanted to share another blog THAT is also non-health/ diet related but also a fun blog to check out and has also won the bestest blog of the day title for Nov.22/06.
My show that I like to watch wasn't on last night, The Biggest Loser, maybe because the States are celebrating Thanksgiving ?? Apparently it is suppose to be on next week and there is only two more episodes so I'm curious to see who gets the title of The Biggest Loser!
Tonight is bowling night and hopefully I'll be able to get my average! I also need to "pre-bowl" for next week cause I have plans to go to this open house next Thursday night. So tonight I will be bowling 6 games! That should burn a few extra calories!
