Fun Friday!

Rain, rain, go away ......
It seems like we have had nothing but rain for the past week!? Storm warnings and tornado warnings seem to be quite common now a days! We are suppose to be at the race track tonight for street legals but I'm thinking they are going to cancel them due to all the wet stuff falling out of the sky! ? Last night after I took my dog for her walk I was looking at my flowers and I was surprised to see that even with all this rain we have gotten they look like they might be drying out and dying? Maybe they need more sun? Maybe I planted then in the wrong spot in my flower beds? Who knows!? I think next year I will just stick too petunias they are way easier! ;) Oh, and speaking of my dog ... she seems to be doing much better, we have now had two nights in a row that we were not woken up by her coughing! Either she isn't coughing as much at night or I'm just so tried from lake of sleep that I just don't hear her anymore! ? ;)

Tomorrow we have a 75th birthday party to attend, hubbies Grandma. My in-laws are putting on a BBQ in their backyard and I'm in charge of bringing my salad! Hopefully the weather is nice for it. I was also invited to the hubbies cousins wedding shower that is going on tomorrow as well but unfortunately I can not attend. After the BBQ we were thinking of heading to the track and visiting with friends maybe have a few drinks with them! :0 I think it all depends on the weather though!? Here is 'my salad' recipe:
Sunflower Salad (a.k.a.-Leanne's salad)
1 head of cabbage - shredded thin
1/2C. chopped green onion
1/2C. chopped celery
3 pkgs "Mr.Noodle" (chicken flavor) - crumbled
--------- reserve 1 1/2 pkgs for later -------------
**** MIX ALL TOGETHER ****
** DRESSING **
1C. oil (I only use about 3/4C)
4 Tbsp Sugar (I use Splenda)
1 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. pepper
3 pkgs chicken base (came with "Mr.Noodle" pkgs)
***** MIX ALL TOGETHER *****
--- MARINATE OVER NIGHT ---
>>> NEXT DAY <<<
1C. sunflower seeds (toasted)
1C. sliced almonds (toasted)
last 1 1/2pkg "Mr.Noodle" (crumbled)
*** MIX WELL TOGETHER ***
!!! READY TO SERVE !!!

I still have not found my scrapbooks that I have been searching for and I am now almost certain that they must be at my Dads! It's either that or I loaned them to someone and forgot to get them back!? I did how ever find my "Treasure Album - School Days" book! It has all my school pics in it and class pics, I plan on scanning them and posting them on the school groups on Facebook. I was flipping through the book last night and was slightly surprised at how much of a pack rat I was as a kid, I have letters from friends and copies of my poor attendance record. I thought those books were to keep things that were accomplishments!? he he

It's Friday!~ :)

Well I finally had time to go shopping and buy some plants! I also found a little time to plant them too! ;)

I ended up going to Home Depot, they had quite a few that looked like they were in pretty good shape. I bought some blue and white Pansy's, white Snapdragons and some blue Lobelia. All of these flowers are new to me, meaning I have never tried growing them before, but apparently they say that Pansy's are a good flower for kids to grow because they are so easy to take care of!? Hopefully I don't kill mine off! :)

I also have some plants that my MIL gave me last year, they are perennials and should come back every year. There are some tiny little red ones called Sweet Williams and some blue and white flowers that I can't remember what they are called but they kinda look like the ones in these pics!? So I guess my garden this year will be red, white and blue! LOL Last year I had way too much pink, I'm not a big pink fan and it looked funny with my orange Marigolds. I tried to do a little more planning this year but I still think I'm not that great when it coes to planning a flower bed! It will come, in due time! Someday I'll be a pro! ;)

Busy, busy! :)

We were so busy at work yesterday I didn't even have time to write a little bit on my blog! I actually really like when we are that busy cause you get into a rhythm and the day flies by!! :) I also really enjoy my job, I could use a raise but I like it here. My boss is great at giving time off and lets us slack off a bit when we aren't busy but when we are busy you know you need to work! So yesterday because we were so busy and I think because I was working hard my boss let me leave 15 minutes early!! YAH! So on my way home I stopped to do a little shopping at Mark's Work Warehouse they had a sale on tank tops with built in bra's! I have never been able to wear spaghetti strap type tank tops before because my bra straps were always way too wide and it looked funny. And even though I have lost a fair amount of weight on my top I still am too "well endowed" to go bra less! he he So these tank's are perfect !! I love them, they only had two mediums left so I bought both and I also picked up a new pair of shorts (size 12) and a few other wide strap tanks that were on sale - 2 for $15!

I never had time last night to go shopping for bedding plants so I think I will do that on Monday. My FIL came over last night to do some work on his truck and after I took the dog for her walk I was busy getting things organized for our weekend at the track! It's quite the ordeal to make sure I have all my dairy, veggies and fruit plus have all the hubbies food! And last weekend he felt like having a banana so I was short a fruit, so this weekend I am bringing extra bananas! ;) After I think I got everything organized cleaned the bathroom, it was discusting and needed to be done!

Every Friday that we go to the track I have to pack a nap sack of all the food I am eating for the day! I feel like such a piggy! LOL I think one of the ladies at the track wants to try NS but hasn't really said anything yet!? I think she sees how much food I eat and how it seems like I'm always eating and she will say something like "I need to try a new diet, this one's not working for me". I hope she does try NS, I know it probably doesn't work for everyone and I believe that there is a diet for everyone out there, you just have to find one that works for you. I just know it worked for me and if/ when I ever need to loose weight again I know I will be using NS again! :)

My back has been killing me lately! I'm not sure why?! Maybe because I stand on cement all day at work or when I'm not standing I'm sitting on a very uncomfortable bar stool!? Anyway I have been taking Robax to help, which it does but it also makes me incredibly drowsy! I also don't really think it's a good idea to be taking it if there may be a chance that I am pg, so I can only take it when I know for sure I'm not and during my 2ww I need to suffer!? I know that one of the symptoms of pg is a sore back but I hope it's not like this! And if it is what can you take for it?

You Would Be a Pet Fish

Relaxed and laid back, you prefer to sit back and observe what's going on around you.

You are secretly very wise and intelligent, but few people take the time to learn about you.

You don't mind if the world doesn't understand you.

You're having enough fun trying to understand the world.

Why you would make a great pet: You're peaceful and nice to be around, but not very demanding

Why you would make a bad pet: Let's face it... the only person you're truly interesting to is yourself

What you would love about being a fish: Swimming around aimlessly without a care in the world

What you would hate about being a fish: Being used as bait or food for bigger fish

YAH for weekends!

I brought my nap sack full of food today to work, all my meals packed into one little bag! ;) After work I am headed straight to the race track to work out there for the street legal planned for tonight and then Sat and Sun are regular bracket races! Last night we figured out our hours for the month and made an invoice, I was happy, it looks like we will average about $1000 a month from working out there! I think it's worth it, I get to paid to watch the races and camp with my family! ;)

I also finally got a letter yesterday from a accident I was in, Jan. 2006, they made me an offer! $2000.00, It's not as much as I thought it would be but I never really expected to get anything until the insurance lady came over and started talking to us about it! So I think I'm willing to take whatever offer they will give just to end this claim! All this extra money will sure help us build an nest egg and pay off some of our previous bills! Now if only our lawyer would get his act together and settle the "shed" issue on our house, it's almost been 2yrs! I'm hoping that we will be able to side the garage this summer so that it matches the house but we believe that the previous home owner should have to pay for some of it cause they never got a RPR when she listed the house (which you're suppose to - to make sure everything is where it should be). Her lawyer is also responsible for it too and since he never held enough money to cover the cost of replacing the shed it looks like he will be the one that ends up paying the difference! Anyway, I have called the law society and now it is in their hands which also means that there is a formal complaint against our lawyer so if anyone else calls to report something about him, he could be in big trouble! :o

- Holidays -

Holidays start today! I thought I would just give you a little humour while I sit at home and relax! ;) My weekend was good, full of racing, I am awfully tired today and am glad I'm on holiday's -- I'm not sure what I'm going to do on a regular week when I have to go back to work Monday?!?! I felt like I followed my "diet" quite well on the weekend but when I snuck a peak at the scale this morning it didn't look too good? Maybe I wasn't on top of getting my 8 glasses of water? Or maybe it was too much bread from the hot dogs and veggie burger? I think today I will make sure I get all my water in plus more, and I plan on taking the dog for an afternoon walk. Because yesterday was Mother's Day and we were not around we need to do our visiting today, and fix my mom's computer ... again! Hope you enjoy the humour for today! ;)

Fun

I found this on Lynn's blog, I thought it was kinda neat - I don't think my link works though so you might have to go to her blog to get your own picture!? LOL How's my drawing!? Can you see my fish jumping out of the water!? he he

Fun Friday!

Well I braved the elements yesterday and after supper I took the dog for her walk! It wasn't too bad, I found an umbrella in our trailer and a wind breaker type jacket that kept a lot of the rain off. I think it was more of a work out drying off the dog when we got home then the whole walk was!? I wish I had a rain coat for her, like this dog! LOL I could not believe the number of worms we saw on our walk, it was disgusting! Like little snakes all over the sidewalk! Ewwww - I tried hard not to step on any but there was just too many! I think we have a worm epidemic, last fall it was ants and now it looks like this spring it's worms! Now don't get me wrong I don't mind worms
but I believe that there is a place for them ....like in the garden and only in the garden! I think if I had a little boy he would have been outside collecting a bucket full of those slimy little creatures!

They cancelled the Street Legal race that was suppose to go on tonight, no surprise -- it's just way too wet. I think the track needs to re-evaluate their summer schedule and start later /finish later. They always plan the first race too early and I don't think they ever get to run it cause the weather just doesn't co-operate and then in the fall when we could still be racing the season is over!?

So as you probably know, I started my food journal and I have been recording everything I eat on SparkPeople, I'm not sure if I like it? So far it says that on Wednesday I ate 1907 calories!! and Thursday wasn't much better at 1666 calories!! YIKES Seems a little high to me? I don't think that I can be loosing weight eating that many calories!? I'll keep recording my meals for this week and see what my weigh in says, maybe it is right? I have been eating more meals "on my own" - maybe I'm just not that great at counting calories!? Which is probably why I didn't do too good when I tried Weight Watchers!?

I brought one of my mango's today for my afternoon snack, I'll have to keep you updated with how that goes!? It still seemed a little firm when I cut it up this morning so I brought an extra apple just in case it's not ripe enough yet! he he.

I also just want to say that I now realize I have a new addiction ..... FACEBOOK -- It is so addicting, I keep checking it to see if there are any new friends that I know or if anyone wrote on my wall! Seriously if you haven't checked it out and signed up you totally should and I completely blame Michelle for my new addiction! thanks ;)

Tuesday...

I feel like I haven't had a single NS meal all week! Which has made me want to check the scale more then normal throughout the week, I am pleased to say that even though we have eaten out a lot this week and I have eaten more "on my own" meals and the scale has so far been nice to me - hopefully tomorrow it will still show a good number!? I feel like I do make better decisions when we go out for supper and I no longer worry about substituting steamed veggies for the fries that a meal usually comes with or asking for certain things to be removed from the meal, like cheese or gravy. Yesterday was my hubbies Grandma's 85th birthday so we went out for dinner again, I had the grilled chicken breast that was "smothered in cheese" but instead asked for no cheese and changed my side to veggies, I had to force myself to put the fork down when I started feeling full or else I would have eaten the whole thing! I have been trying to teach myself that I don't need to clean my plate and that it is ok to throw a little bit of food out, restaurant portions are way too big anyways!?

I posted the pic of our NS lunch late yesterday so if you never saw it the first time you should check it out! I actually like the picture - it's been a long time since I've had my picture taken and actually felt like it was a nice pic! You can really see my collarbones, something that has been in hiding for a long time! ;) I have another order on it's way, hopefully this will be my second last order! And my 70lb bear should be on board too!

One of those days .....

Good news / bad news .....

Good news is that it's Friday!! YAH!! :)

Bad news is that nothing seems to be working right today in the internet world!?! Like as I'm typing this the letters appear after I've already typed the whole sentence!? It seems like on days that you are incredible busy nothing seems to want to work proper! ? Work is busy today which is good cause then the day flies by! But it is so frustrating when I try to look up things on the internet and my computer has decided that it's time for a coffee break!? Grrr It's like going from a push button phone back to a rotary phone!? Maybe it's from all the porn I look at on my computer ~!? he he JK !!

It's the first drag race of the season this weekend, the hubby is going to be out at the track from 8am till probably after 8pm! I on the other hand am not that devoted to the track and won't be showing up until closer to the actual "start" time of the race, 1:00pm, he is going early and staying late to help clean and prep the track. Hopefully the weather is nice and it doesn't rain but I have a feeling that it will rain and the races will be cancelled! At least my tulips will get watered !?! LOL Speaking of my tulips .... they are growing like crazy! I think the last time counted almost 40 of them sprouting up!! Although I also planted iris bulbs last fall and some of what I think are tulips could actually be iris's!? I'm such a dummy when it comes to flowers, I get so excited when they do well though makes me feel like actually know what I'm doing! ?!

We are having a BBQ at work today, I brought my "Veggie dogs", hopefully my co-workers won't think I'm too weird!? Not that I care too much about what they think but it's just nice to not have people talk about the things you eat and how odd they might seem to them!? I have a feeling that only one of our drivers would say anything at all and that's only because he would think that I was eating "hippy" food and then go on a rant about "those hippies"?! I've never tried these Veggie Dogs BBQ'd yet but I'm sure that they will taste better BBQ'd then microwaved as most things do!

Well that's about all for now! :) Hopefully everyone has a great weekend! ;)

Oh- and if you are looking for my Friday Fun and you need a good chuckle, you should check out this blog - it usually has some pretty funny stories! Friday .... at last!

Things are getting better, I find that the more I tell people the easier it is, which is odd for me because usually I would just hold it in and hope no one asked questions. But because I deal a lot with customers on the phone and they call in regularly they know my voice and most of them are asking if I am sick?! I didn't think I sounded that bad but I guess they can tell that I'm not my usual self so I have to tell them that no I'm not sick and that we had just put our cat down. Each time it seems to get easier, I was thinking yesterday that this is probably how a parent would feel when their child leaves the home to go to college or moves out. It's odd to come home to one less 'kid' but at least I still have one 'kid' at home that brightens my day.

This weekend is fairly busy for us, the hubby has a booth set up at the local car show called 'Powerama' - so he will be there all weekend starting tonight! Then tomorrow we have to attend his grandparents anniversary, 60th I think? After we finish eating with his family I need to scoot over to the bowling banquet to pick out all our prizes!! I'm so excited about winning the top prize, I hope there are some good prizes to pick from! I also think I will go shopping tonight or tomorrow morning for some new boots to wear with the outfit I want to wear. I'm not sure what I have planned for Sunday yet, I know I want to keep myself busy so that might mean a road trip to do some visiting or I might use my hubbies free pass to go see the car show - or both!? LOL If it's nice out I would also like to clean the inside of my car - there's nose prints all over my back window! ;)

Good news ..... only 3 more weeks till my holiday's!! YAH!! Not that we are going anywhere or doing anything exciting but it will be nice to have some days off! :)

First week of playoffs!

Last night was our first week of playoffs and guess how good we did!? We are 2nd! ..... 2nd last !! :( BOO Everyone had horrible games we only got over 1000 once (the last game), the second game we only got 839!! For those of you that don't know - that's crap !! The good news is that we still have next week to try and do better and maybe gain some pins! I suppose it doesn't really matter too much on what position we finish in for the playoffs cause we won Grand Aggregate and get to pick our prizes first but it would still be nice to pick our second batch of prizes before some other teams. I also found out the other night that my hubby won't be able to attend the bowling banquet with me cause we paid money to have a table at one of the car shows here so he needs to be there and work his booth! It's all good though, I don't mind - it just means that have to pick his prizes and I also have to pick my FIL prizes. I'll need one of those luggage carts just to get all our prizes to the car! ;) I'm so glad bowling season is over, it's starting to get nice out now and going bowling is the last thing I feel like doing when it's nice out!

We are having a BBQ today at work, one of our drivers is leaving to do the highway run (still with us but just not at our store) - of course he was the best driver we had. Hopefully things will run smooth without him here! So I'm going to have my first BBQ hamburger of the season!! I can smell them cooking back there as I type this and can hardly wait to bite down on one! YUM

So my mom was wondering ..... I keep talking about how my hubby is working in the garage, so she was wondering WTH is he doing out there? And since he is the handy kind of guy that he is, he could be working on just about anything. Well his big project lately has been his car, for those of you that don't know, my hubby likes to drag race. I've personally never even been to a race track before I met him and I never really had the urge to go fast. I am definitely not a speed junkie like he is. So this is our race car: (sorry for the tiny pic- it's the only one I could find on the computer) It is a 1977 Chevy Nova with a 400cu engine and it's fastest run was 11.92 (105mph) in the 1/4 mile -- (I think got that right? - if not I'll find out tonight) ;)

So being the speed junkie that he is, of course he wanted it to go a little faster - like a few seconds faster!! Which doesn't sound like much but when you are already doing 105mph @ 11.92 seconds in a 1/4 mile .... a few more seconds could be insane! This is what he is doing to his car now:

He has cut out just about all the tin on the car (mostly to lighten it up - I think?) He had a pretty good 'cage' in it already but for us it is always a safety thing (you can never be safe enough) so he is putting in a better cage one that could withstand anything! This car will be 100% different then what it looked like last year. It will not only have better parts in it but it will go faster and will be safer. This is a project that will take us a few years to get complete (if ever). There will always be something better or something might break (God forbid) and we will have to upgrade. I think the goal for now is 2 1/2 years for it to be back at the race track! So for now we will just be working at the track during the summer months and hopefully be back to race in a few years!

Here is your fun for the day!! This totally describes me to a T !! Once again Blogspot amazes me! ; ) Check it out and see if it gets you right too!?

It' Friday

This morning my eyes felt a little funny and my nose had a slight drip to it, I assumed it was because the radio station I listen to on the way to work was having a telethon for the Stollery Hospital and it brought back a bunch of memories of Kenzie in the hospital and how lucky we are. I wish I made more money cause the Stollery Hospital would definitely be on my charity list. I feel bad cause I really would like to make a donation but we are just starting to build our "nest egg" and even though they are only asking for $20 a month I feel like it might set us back a bit!? I feel so selfish! So anywho - I still have itchy eyes and a runny nose so I'm thinking I have allergies! I've never had allergies before! My boss says it's a sign of 'old age' - LOL, I guess I'm getting old! ;) I can't believe the amount of snow mold we have this year, it's on every lawn and it seems to be growing on the wood around our flower beds. We need a really good rain storm to wash this away, it's disgusting!

Last night was bowling night and the last week before playoffs, we played like crap and I like to think that we are trying to "save" ourselves for next week when we are in playoffs but I was really trying but just couldn't seem to find "the spot"!? It looks like we won grand aggregate!! How exciting is that! This means that we get to pick our prizes first at the banquet and considering the hubbies aunt was the one buying all the prizes we know what there is already - too be quite honest, there isn't too many "good" prizes so us getting first pick is awesome! I think next year me and the hubby will volunteer to buy prizes, I really enjoy looking at flyer's and seeing what neat things are on sale for the week. I'm not so crazy about the shopping part and going into places where big sales are to fight the crowd, but at least this way we can't complain about the prizes.

For this 'Fun Friday' I would like to share a website that my mom showed me - they are super cute, here is a preview:

Friday fun!

So I guess I have to make a correction from yesterday .... I was wrong about the "Maui wowi's" - my MIL did NOT discover maui wowi's, she discovered Tequila Boom Boom's!! Which totally surprise me cause I never would have thought that she would like tequila! LOL I won't even drink tequila, ewww !
Last night was bowling night and as we walked into the building we discovered buckets and tarps all over the place! Apparently with all this warm weather we have been having the snow seems to be melting faster then the roof can handle! It wasn't too bad for our league cause we don't quite fill up the alley and we were still able to play, but the league before us fills up the whole alley so they had to rotate teams on one lane! Needless to say we had to wait for them to finish before we could start so it was a late night. I'm almost certain that two of the lanes are ruined and the wood is all warped from all the water, good thing the season is almost over!
This month is a pretty exciting month for me not only because it is looking like spring is here and I can start wearing some new clothes to show off my new body but because I have a doctors appointment later this month! I can't wait to hear what she has to say about my weight loss and I 'm so excited to talk to her about TTC!! Hopefully everything goes good and she doesn't foresee any problems for us in that department! I'll make sure I keep you informed ;)

TGIF ; )

Last night was bowling night and we seem to be holding on to that grand aggregate position, which is nice cause that means we get first pick of the prizes! We were the last team to finish last night so we didn't get home till almost midnight! Boy am I ever tired today, TGIF!! Not too many plans for this weekend, probably take it easy - maybe rent a movie!?

I had another "moment" ..... I think I pissed off all the driver's we have here -LOL ?!? When they aren't busy they like to play on the computer in the back - playing solitaire or searching the Internet for whatever. But someone was going onto a previous employees msn account and checking all her e-mail!! They ended up deleting a bunch of her e-mail so she called me and asked if I could get rid of that program on the computer so I said I would check it out. Now I'm not that computer literate but can usually figure things out if I R.T.F.S. (read the f*ckin screen)! Well I didn't - and I assumed ......and you know what happens when you do that! So I went to add and remove programs found where msn messenger was put a little check mark beside it and clicked on remove. BUT if I would have R.T.F.S I would have noticed that it said to check the things you want to stay and not to check the ones you want removed!! So needless to say I think I deleted the Internet and the games file! So now the drivers can't play their games or search the net! oops! LOL I suppose the good news is that the programs we use to make invoices and other business stuff still work so that's good! ;) Hopefully the IT guy will come out to help us re-install the Internet and games but who knows when he will be able to make it out here!

Of all the brain types, yours is the most mellow.

You tend to be in a meditative state most of the time.

You don't try to think away your troubles.

Your thoughts are realistic, fresh, and honest.

You truly see things as how they are.

You tend to spend a lot of time thinking about your friends, your surroundings, and your life.

Friday Fun

It's snowing again but at least it is nice out? If that makes any sense!? LOL We had a good time at the bowling alley last night, we had to play the team that is competing with us for first place (most pins down). So my FIL being the sh*t disturber that he is, roused the other team just enough to throw them off their game! It was all fun, I'm sure the other team (The Bowling Bitches) knew he wasn't being serious. Anyway it worked cause we kicked their butt and hopefully we can keep our lead we have on them for another 5 weeks! They are a really good team so it might be a fight to the finish line!

I have a busy weekend planned for myself, I would like to finish the scrapbook I am working on for my dad tonight so that I can give it to him tomorrow when we go for dinner. I also need to go to Costco again to pick up a few things and maybe I'll stop by Old Navy and check them out, apparently they have some really good sales on right now and I am curious to see what size I am. Sunday we need to go visit the Grandparents, we haven't done this since Jan! We usually go every Sun, at least in the winter. And Monday is a holiday here in Alberta and I believe only in Alberta. Family Day, where you are suppose to spend time with your family and do special activities but I don't think anyone does!? We will probably just stay home and putz around the house. It's too cold to go to the zoo or Fort Edmonton Park, those are summer activities, maybe if I had kids I would take them tobogganing or ice skating!

Your True Love Is a Cancer

Why you'll love a Cancer:
Cancer's loyal and sincere heart makes your own sensitive heart melt.

Caring and devoted, a Cancer will take the lead in pursuing you - and not give up!

Why a Cancer will love you:
You're laid back enough to deal with Cancer's little mood swings and freak-outs.

A fellow homebody, you know how make Cancer comfortable and at home with you.

What Sign Is Your True Love?

This is 100% true! I married a Cancer and I believe it is my laid back nature that balances our relationship with his "mood swings" and "freak outs" ! LOL
