So I have a secret ..... I started a new blog ..... it's because there is a new path in my life ..... we are pregnant!! :) I think just about everyone knows now so I figured it was safe to tell all my readers here! I probably won't be posting here anymore either so this way you can follow my new journey on my new blog. We found out almost three weeks ago so that makes me 8 weeks pregnant now! I still have a long way to go and I am not even finished my first trimester yet but we were too excited to not tell anyone! I figure this way too that if anything bad were to happen then I will have tons of support! :) So I was going to get my hubby to upload the pics we took of my pee sticks but he was busy last night and I forgot to ask so I just uploaded one from the Internet! ? he he It's the same brand of one of the tests I took so it's kinda the same!? ;) So if you are curious and don't mind a little detailed info on girly stuff then you can follow my new journey!

Thursday

Tonight is bowling night (5 pin), we go every Thursday from 9pm till about 11ish - it makes for a super long night but it is nice to get out, especially now that winter is coming. Lately I have been trying to have a nap before we go just cause I get so tired!

We went shopping last night too with my hubbies Grandma, she saw something and wanted to get it for us but wanted us to look at it first. So off to Zellers we go, it was a glidder rocking chair - I liked it and it is something I have always wanted so she bought it for us. An early Christmas present, I think!? I can't wait to get it set up and try it out but so far it is still in the back of my car! he he I haven't done any Christmas shopping yet and have no idea on what to get people - I wish we would just buy gifts for the kids and not everyone but it is hard to convince my hubby of this. It's not that I don't like giving gifts I just don't like giving gifts that people won't use. And when you are 60 years + it becomes really hard to think of something they actually "need" and not some dust collector that they will never use!?

Weekend review

So we had our race banquet on Saturday, it was good. One of the racer's own's his own catering company, they catered last year and it was really good - this year was the same. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a caterer, they serve appetizers, the main course that consisted of lots of salads and fruit, chicken, salmon and roast beef with all the sides to go with them and then at 11pm they brought out the late lunch! It was really good, of course I ate way too much. Hubby got a trophy for most valuable employee, which was a complete surprise but well deserved.

The rest of the wekend was pretty lazy on my part, we did some visiting on Sunday but I however was too lazy to clean the house! ;) Hubby said he would vacuum today and take the garbage out so we will see if that gets done!

I got a picture from my brother of my niece on Halloween. It is her first Halloween and looks super cute! Her she is.....

Wednesday Weigh in

Well its been a while since I've weighed in, I think the last one that I posted here was week 59 at 172.6lbs? It is now ....

Week 62 = 170.6lbs

I'm actually really surprised by this weigh in, I feel like I've been eating every hour, although they are "good" snacks I've still been snacking a lot! ;) I think I will do bi-monthly weigh ins so every 15 days or so? So my next weigh in will be November 15th, I will still weigh myself at home every week but I just wont be posting anything till the 15th.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

As most of you know, today is Halloween! It's a fun time of year, a time of year that my hubby really enjoys. This is our second year converting our garage into a Haunted Garage, it is fun to have the neighbors come by and their kids seem to really enjoy it. Hopefully this year we will have more kids then last, the weather should be nice so there's no reason why people won't come out!? Halloween sure isn't like when I was young, there were kids everywhere no matter what the weather was like. We didn't have all the indoor activities like they do now in the malls, which I'm sure as a parent you are grateful for having the choice to Trick or Treat indoors as opposed to bundling up your little one finding a costume to fit over top of the piles of clothes and facing the elements of outdoors!? I think I still prefer the old fashioned way, where you walk your neighborhood and yell at people's doors, maybe get a few scares!? BOO ! ;) But at least now you do have that choice. We didn't buy any new costumes this year so I will be dressed up as a skeleton again and the dog will be in her sheriff costume! Last year we just left her in the house but I think I would like to try and have her outside, hopefully she will be a good dog! :) I will try to take lots of pics and post some here on the weekend.

Weekend Review ... a day late ;)

Well the weekend was busy for me, or at least Saturday was fairly busy - I managed to get all my visiting done and was home for supper! :) I started off Saturday morning and went to see my brother at work since my Mom is not much of a morning person anymore I needed to waste time till she was ready for company! ;) So I asked my brother what the kids wanted for Christmas, he didn't really give me any more ideas then before I asked!? How could you're kid not have a Christmas wish list!? I remember when I was his age, my list was sooo long I had to edit it! My brother ended up giving me two CAT shirts that they had on clearance, they are nice and I always wanted a CAT shirt. Next stop was my Mom's, by now she should be dressed and ready for company! LOL I visited her for about an hour or so and then went to see Denise, we also had a good visit since her little one was napping we could actually have a conversation!! :) Then I went to my Dad's and had a super quick visit with him cause by now I was super tired and wanted to go home! I'll have to go back to my Dad's soon anyway so I can empty out my old hope chest.

Sunday was pretty relaxed, the usual house cleaning crap - we decided not to go visit the Grandparents cause hubby got invited to go Quading with the boys. I got a little scrapbooking in on Sunday and I cleaned out my pantry! Oh- and I went grocery shopping for "staples", that's about it for my weekend! Tomorrow is weigh in day and I think it should be a good one? We will see, I feel like I'm eating all the time but good things!

It was a bit of a challenge getting to work this morning, it rained/ snowed last night so the roads were a little icy. A lot of the bridges in and around town were closed so you couldn't even go over them if you wanted too!? I took my usual 'ring road' highway to get here today, which wasn't too bad but when I got to the overpasses it looked like someone had put blue, red and yellow Christmas lights all over it cause of all the emergency vehicles on it! Then everyone that was detoured to go down the highway the opposite way they wanted to go, cause they couldn't get over the bridge, started driving trough the ditch to go the way they wanted! It was crazy - I thought there would be another accident for sure!

Well my BBT dropped to 36.68C (98.02F) so that can't be good news~! I guess

that maybe I am just having one of my 35CD!? I am woke up this morning to a nasal drip! I think I may be getting my winter cold, now that I'm at work and dealing with this nasal issue I am also dealing with a very hot face! My cheeks are hot hot hot - I'm very flushed today, my throat better not start to get scratchy! We have our race banquet next weekend and I don't want to be sick for that!

Not too much planned for this weekend, tomorrow I am going to head out to St.Albert to visit Denise and on Sunday we may go visiting the Grandparents!? If it's nice out I would like to use the leaf sucker upper thingy that the hubby has to suck up all the leaves that have fallen off the hedge in the front yard (looks kinda messy and will probably turn into mush over the winter). Other then that I don't think I have anything on my agenda, hopefully we will finish the Halloween Haunted Garage - I'll try to take some pics and post here when it is done. My brother is trying to plan a "play date" for his new puppy and wants me to come over with my dog for a visit, maybe during the week sometime or this weekend?! I'm trying to convince him to come to my house for Halloween and bring the kids to check out the Haunted House and the dogs can play in the yard!? ;)

Getting back on track

Well I think I am getting back on track, it is Wednesday today and usually on Wednesday's I have my weigh in ..... so I peaked - it looks good, I'm back down to where I feel I should be but I am not going to do an official weigh in post until the end of the month, then again mid-month (Nov.15th). As for my BBT it is still what I like to consider high (even though I don't know what my low is) 36.80C (98.24F) but I am still too chicken to test and see if it really means anything? Hubby thinks I should wait till Friday, which I think will be tough but I really don't want to see a (-)!! It's like getting a F on a test in school - feel like such a failure!

It is gorgeous outside today - almost nicer then a summer day! Maybe it's our "Indian summer", hopefully it will stay nice for Halloween? Hubby is working hard on getting the haunted garage done, I took a quick walk through it yesterday and it's starting to look really good! I didn't sleep very well last night, kept tossing and turning, so I'm a little tired today. Not too much else is new in my life? I think I will go out to St.Albert again this weekend and visit Denise before the snow starts to fly and I won't want to drive that far! ;) Other then that .... I don't think I have any other plans! ? Quite the boring life now that the summer is over!

The city opened another section of our "ring road" yesterday, the orange section on the map above is now open. Which made my drive to work this morning a snap!! It was awesome, I work on the right hand side of the map kinda on the road where the little green square is and I live almost at the first yellow dot on the orange line. So I just jumped on the freeway and away I went, 8 minutes later I was at work!! :o There are no lights on this section of the highway and the speed limit is 100km/hr so it moves quite well. It pretty much cut my drive to work in half! :) !!

So last night we went over to my MIL's to watch her after her surgery, she seemed OK - just a little tired. I just sat and watched TV for a while and every once and a while I would check on her in the bedroom. She sat up with us for a little while and was telling us how they couldn't get her to sleep so they just went ahead with the surgery anyway and just froze her! ewww -- I don't think I could do that! I would pass out! :P Speaking of passing out ... thankfully there was no drama last night and I never had to call 911!! I don't do well in those situations! ;)

Well AF is now 4 days late and my BBT is still fairly high - 36.76C (98.17F). Which is good news but I have had a 35CD before and I don't feel any different (I don't think)? So I'm kinda scared to POAS, not because I'm worried about seeing a BFP but in fact I really don't want to see another BFN! I think I would rather see AF - it's less discouraging! ? We'll see ..... I think I will give it a few more days and just watch my BBT, if it stays high then I will use my last HPT to see what it says! ;) Hopefully it stuck this time! :> I'm so nervous and I just know that now that I actually said something AF will show up .... that's usually how it goes, once I show just a little bit of hope I get crushed! :(

Weekend review

Well - back to work for another work week! :( I often wish that we had tons of money and that I could stay at home, not that my job is hard. It's not very exciting at all, but I just enjoy being a homebody! ;) I'm sure after a while though the luxury would wear off and it would become just as tedious as coming to work everyday and at least I have adult contact here, at home I would just have my dog! he he

So as for my weekend, I felt I had to work a little harder to work off some extra pounds so I tried hard to keep myself busy. Friday was pretty relaxed though and I don't think we did much. Saturday was house cleaning day and then I went outside to rake up the leaves. We don't get too many leaves in our yard since we chopped down the four large trees but there was still two

garbage bags. The hubby started planning his "haunted garage" for Halloween and moved his car over to his parents. I also went shopping to Costco on Saturday and bought some stuff to put in our new upright freezer. Sunday I decided to clean the basement, the cob webs were starting to get to me and there was this musty smell that I hate! I bought some reed diffusers at Costco (three for $25) and put two of them downstairs. Last year we went through most of our boxes from moving in and sorted out stuff we want to keep and stuff for a garage sale that was suppose to happen this fall but didn't! So I had to move all our garage sale boxes back into one of the bedrooms in our basement so that hopefully the hubby will start demo on it!! Then I vacuumed the entire basement (top to bottom) and moved the treadmill into a corner so if I wanted to I could still use it. I think it looks really good now but would look even better if the drywall was taped and mudded so I could put a coat of primer on it! ;)

We have to go over to my MIL's tonight, as I am typing this she is getting surgery done to her jaw/ mouth. I think she is going to be hurtin' when we go see her after supper!? I guess she needs to be watched for the first 24 hours and my FIL needs to step out for a few hours so it's up to us to go watch her. I hope nothing major happens cause I don't really deal well in those situations! We were hoping to jump in their hot tub for a little while but now my hubby has plans to go met this guy for a job so I may be stuck by myself and probably won't go in.

Wednesday weigh in ?

I have decided that to weigh in every week at this stage in my weight loss journey is becoming frustrating, too record one pound up this week and then a half pound lost the next. Last week I decided that I am no longer going to post my weekly weigh in's on here anymore, I thought that from now on I would like to only post my weigh in's once a month. However lately my weigh in's haven't been the greatest and I am wondering if I should still post them so that I am liable for them and not feel like it's OK to keep gaining! I am now officially 4lbs higher then my lowest weight and even though it is only 4lbs it feels like 14lbs!! I feel really heavy lately, my clothes don't fit right and I feel like I have little energy. It's funny how 4lbs can make that much of a difference and maybe it's because TOM is around the corner and only a few days away but it still sucks to see the scale go up! I think it is time for me to smarten up, buckle down and get back on track! I feel like I am headed for a train wreck! I think I will set a new mini-goal ... it's been a while since I had one of those and with Halloween just around the corner with all those tempting mini chocolate bars I need to stay focused! My new mini-goal is too loose 5lbs by our race banquet on Nov 3rd, that's 2 weeks away - and I think should be achievable?! I want to look my best at the banquet and I want to be able to enjoy the meal without the guilt of making a piggy of myself! ? Then if I end up gaining a pound or two from the banquet meal it won't put me over my 5lb leeway that I said was OK to fluctuate between.

The hubby took the dog back to the vet today to get her stitches out and for him to see how she is progressing. Well I just got off the phone with him and he

said that the vet says everything looks really good. She seems to be healing good and it's OK that she is not putting full weight on her leg just yet, that it is part of the healing process. She has also had a cough since coming home and he said it was because they put a tube down her throat and it got a little irritated but should clear up on it's own (just like my MIL said). So I guess she goes back again in 4 more weeks too check it out again for the final time and by then she should be good!? ;)

I went out to St.Albert last night for the Jobie meeting, which was short and sweet but there was lots of people there that I hadn't seen for a long time so I ended up socializing longer then expected and didn't get home till 10pm. I also stopped by my Dad's house while I was out there to pick up some old puzzles I had. My MIL is going for surgery on the 22nd and asked if I could pick some up so she would have something to do. So I just grabbed them all - my back seat is full of puzzles! Some of them I have never even opened the box yet, they are brand new! I used to love sitting down and build a puzzle, I would put a 1000 piece puzzle together in an afternoon and if I liked it I would build it again and again. Now I have no time for puzzles but I still enjoy helping build them.

BBT = 36.84C (98.31F) -- It sure would be nice if my BBT stayed high!! If it drops to 35C then I may get grouchy! ;)

Sleepy today ....

Well they say that only 26% of our city voted yesterday!! That's pretty bad - they said before that they were expecting low numbers but 26% is really low!!

I'm really tired today, maybe I didn't sleep very well? Tonight I have to go to a Jobie meeting, I told them in June that I would come back for this meeting to return all the scrapbooks I borrowed. The only problem is that this is my late week at work so I am here till 5pm and then I have to go home, get changed, grab a quick bite to eat and be out in St.Albert for 7ish. And it will probably take me an hour to get there cause of rush hour!? I'm going to try the new freeway that they just built, hopefully the traffic won't be too bad on it and I can get there a little quicker. I also plan on it being a late night too, the meeting probably won't be over till 9ish and then I'll visit for a bit and drive all the way back home! ;)

The dog hurt her leg again yesterday, being an idiot outside and running with the neighbor dogs. Hubby was mad at her and when he brought her in the house she was limping so bad that she wouldn't even put weight on it at all - just limped around everywhere. I massaged her leg a lot and this morning she seems to be better!? Tomorrow is her doctor appointment and I'm hoping that he likes what he sees?

Weekend review

So my Mom left on Sunday to Vegas, the sad thing about it all is that I could have been going with her if I would have had an up to date passport! But then I found out after she left that that law has not been passed just yet - as of January 2008 you will need a passport to go so I could have actually went with her!? grrr Oh well - we couldn't really afford to go anyway (not after spending almost $2000 on the dog!).

Speaking of the dog, I am a little worried that this operation she had has done nothing at all to help her leg?! Maybe I am just expecting too much, it has only been a week and a half, but she seems to be no better off then she was before? She doesn't seem to want to put any weight on her foot when she is just standing but when she walks she will put some weight on it? I hope it wasn't a complete waste of money or I'll be pissed! She goes back to the vet on Wednesday to get a few stitches out and we can ask him all our questions then.

Today is voting day!!! I however will not be voting, I know it's my demographic right to vote and I should vote but I have no idea about who to vote for and what they stand for! ? It just bores me to watch those debates or read about the different candidates! I trust that there are enough people out there to vote for me! ;) I'm sure that statement alone is enough to boil my hubbies blood - he has tried for many years to get me to vote, it just isn't in me!

As for the rest of my weekend .... it was good, I didn't do much and I think I am starting to pay for my laziness. My jeans this morning were a little bit tighter then usual and maybe that has to do with the fact that TOM is coming but I think it has a lot to do with my lazy attitude! ;) I would like to start doing my pilates again, I really enjoyed them. Denise and her hubby came over on Saturday night and we sat around the fire outside, it was really nice. And on Sunday we visited the Grandparents, something we haven't done in a really long time. We also picked up a shuffle board from my in-laws that they wanted to get rid of and we were happy to take off their hands! :) Now we just have to finish our basement so we can entertain people and they can play a few games on the shuffle board! he he On the weekend I also bought a BBT, I thought it would be fun to track and see for a few months. This morning I was at 36.86C (98.35F) -- pretty hot!! LOL But that's cause TOM is almost here (maybe?). ;)

I finally made time to upload a few pics of my puppy after her surgery. This first picture was taken when we finally got home from picking her up from the vet. She doesn't look too happy in this pic, maybe she is still doped up!? lol I bought her the little green frog in front of her as a "get well soon" gift, she seemed to like it but not as much as the stuffy my Mom bought her! :(

You can just barely see the cut they made on her knee, apparently there are no stitches there that need to be removed so they must all be inside stitches? You can also see another tiny little cut close to her tail where she had a skin tag and the vet removed free of charge for cosmetic reasons only! ;) There are stitches on that cut and they need to be removed in another week.

Her leg actually looked worse a couple days later, you could see some bruising on her knee that went from purple to brown and now it is a shade of yellow. And it was like she had razor burn on the inside of her leg? It looks much better now and I think it must feel better cause she is being playful again and wants us to throw the ball for her when we go outside. I think she even forgot herself cause she squatted down really fast and then started yelping, she just over did it a bit. She is starting to eat more now, which is good, but she still isn't eating quite as much as before the surgery!? She is also coughing more now too so we will have to let the vet know about that when we take her in to get the stitches removed.

I'm not surprised, I haven't been on top of my water intake lately and I'm pretty sure that is what my problem is. Either that or it's because I haven't been exercising very much. I looked at my little graph chart that Ticker Factory plots for me after I register my weigh in with them and I noticed that my dots are starting to go up hill!!! I must put a stop to that!!! I am also thinking that I will only post my weigh in's once a month now instead of every week? It is frustrating to post that I have gained a pound this week and then the next week I post that I lost it!? Which equals nothing!

Yesterday was a fairly busy evening for us, after supper one of our track friends came over to talk to my hubby about working on his car. And then after he left my inlaws came over to help my hubby get our new upright deep freeze downstairs! I'm so happy we finally got ourselves a good deep freeze, now I can clean out the fridge one a bit and move things downstairs and maybe be able to stock it up a bit! Of course with all the visitors the dog was getting excited and wanted to play but she isn't quite ready yet. She ended up hurting her leg and started yelping, now she is limping again! :( It's nothing major she just over did it, I just will just be nice to have her back at 100%!

holidays are over ! :(

So, I'm back at work today :( Actually my holidays felt like they lasted a really long time and they didn't fly by as usual! ? Although I am awfully tired today, the dog kept me up for most of the night. I think her fur is starting to grow in and it is itchy but she can't scratch it so I have become her own personal bum/ leg scratcher! ;) Either that or she has just become more of a sucky dog and just wanted me to pet her!? I'm not sure but she kept head butting the bed so that I would pet her!? Apparently the hubby didn't even notice! grrrrr

So to wrap up my holidays, Friday I re-arranged our bedroom so that now the bed is away from the window and the heat register is not covered by the bed. Then my mom came over bearing gifts for the dog and some nice warm fuzzy socks for me! I can't remember what I did Saturday!? Probably nothing! he he Sunday was so nice outside, but I decided to go through the filing cabinet and shred old papers and organize it a bit better so I was stuck inside. And on Monday we had our absolute last race of the year! And boy was it busy!! Lots of cars showed up to make their final trips down the track and thankfully they all left pretty early too so we went out for dinner with some of the staff. When I got home there was a delivery at our back door, I had forgotten that we were getting our up-right deep freeze that day!! Yah! Now we just have to get it downstairs!

So we ended up doing nothing for Thanksgiving, no turkey dinners, no ham, no family festivities. We were OK with that though it was nice just doing our own thing. Hopefully everyone else had good Turkey day, everyone in Canada that is!?

OK -- so I forgot! he he .... with all the things I had to do yesterday I completely forgot to weigh in until after I was already dressed and I wasn't about to get undressed just to weigh in. So I changed my weigh in day to today! ;) Yesterday morning I had to get the dog to the vets for her surgery and had to leave the house by 7:30am. Of course traffic was horrible and there were accidents everywhere so it took me extra time to get to St.Albert, a drive that usually takes me 30-45 minutes took me over an hour yesterday! After I dropped her off I planned on doing a little visiting since I was in the city but my girlfriend wasn't ready for me to come over till 11am, so I went shopping! I went to Michael's and spent my gift card on some new die cutter shapes for my new Cricut die cutter! Then I went to the local bookstore (Chapter's) and looked around to see what they had and get a coffee at Starbucks! Then it was almost time to go to my girlfriends so I headed back in that direction. I had a good visit with her and met her new baby boy, he sure is a cutie! Then I headed to my other girlfriends house and had a good visit with her too. I headed home around 3:30, oh - and the vet called at about 12:00 to let us know that she was out of surgery and that everything went well! :)

So this morning I weighed in and for:

Week 58 = 171.0lbs

no loss.... no gain!

I'm OK with this, I thought I had over did it the other day when we went out for our anniversary/ birthday dinner at Red Lobster but I guess I did OK or maybe it was because I gave myself that extra day to burn it off!~? lol

Well I have four more days off from work, and we picked up the dog this morning. She seems to be doing OK, not as dopey as I thought she would be but she does seem more tired then usual. She is now on three different meds and one vitamin, she doesn't seem to have much of an appetite yet - hopefully that will improve a bit by tomorrow. I took pics of her shaved leg and I must say it looks good, you can barely even see where they cut her open -- no stitches to take out, all of them were internal. I should have asked how many stitches but didn't think of it. We have to do 12 weeks of physio!!! :o And he said as long as I take her for short walks and she is using her leg we shouldn't need to do too much physio. So hopefully I can download the pics I took and post a few here for you!

Tuesday .....

Well my holidays are going good so far, I am starting to get a little nervous about the dogs surgery. :( My weekend was good, it was our last weekend full of racing!! The race season is officially over, just in time too - everyone was getting tired of being out there. Now we just have the banquet to go to which I can hardly wait for!! I went for a ride down the track in one of the guys race car during our "fun day" Saturday, his car is much faster then our car was and it was quite a thrill to feel what it was like to go that fast! Usually when you have a passenger in your car you're only suppose to go 1/8 mile instead of the full 1/4 mile but Lorne kept his foot in it and we ended up going 10.3 in the 1/4 mile @ 132 miles/hour!! I gave him crap that he didn't shut it down half track but it was still kinda fun! ;)

I didn't have time to go shopping on Saturday cause I slept in too late! :o So instead I went shopping yesterday, I found some gift cards that we got as wedding gifts two years ago and thought that I should spend them before they expire or I loose them! So I bought the hubby some new pants and looked for the little couch I wanted to buy for the dog but was having a hard time finding one! I looked at Zellers, Toys R Us, and Wal-Mart and all they had were one seater couches like a love seat, which would be way too small for my dog! So instead I just bought another "dog bed" from the pet store.

I was also shopping for my "die cutter" and went to Michaels to find one but they were all sold out and the price on theirs was soooo expensive ($399) I asked if I could use one of the 40% off coupons but they said that you can't use those coupons on the "Cricut" cutter products!! But when I was at Wal-Mart looking for the couch I looked in their craft center and they had the exact same cutter for half the price!! So I picked it up from them and I bought some of the "Cricut" paper to try out the cutter with! Of course as soon as I got home I had to set it up and try it out! It is so easy to use, I really like it and think it will make some really nice cards and scrapbook decorations! Now I just have to buy more programs for it so I can cut more shapes! I also haven't quite figured out yet how I am going to attach the cut pieces onto paper? It cuts some of the patterns so skinny that there isn't really much room for the tape method I use on my scrapbooks and I'm not sure if I use a glue stick if it will leave glue marks everywhere ?~ I'll just have to play around some more with it!

So not only do I have to weigh in tomorrow but I also have to drop the dog off at the vets! I want to do some visiting while out in St.Albert so I should probably call them today to make sure they are free! ? I am now off to do some grocery shopping, it is the first Tuesday of the month and we get 10% off so we usually make this our big shoppping day! Then when I get home hopefully it will be a little warmer out and I can clean out my flower beds and paint the shed! ?

Finally .... the Friday before my holiday's begin! It seemed to take forever to get here but at last, my last day! I have a fairly busy week planned which kinda sucks cause I'm sure it will make my holiday's fly by! :(

Tonight we have the Street Legal races (unless they get rained out) and we were suppose to have tomorrow off but now the track management has decided to have a "fun day" from 4-7pm tomorrow night!? I wish they would have made it for longer, seems like such a waste to just go out there for three hours!? My Dad also comes home tomorrow night so we need to remember to pick him up from the airport at 9pm! Since we don't have to go to the race track till 4 on Saturday I am hoping to go do a little shopping. I decided I am going to spend my birthday money on a new "die cutter" from Michaels, it is for cutting out shapes and words for scrap booking. I also would like to make my own Christmas cards this year and use it too make cute shapes and such. I also want to make a stop at Toys R Us to try and find a kids couch that folds out into a bed. Like this one in the pic but I'm hoping to find a "Princess" one or animal print. After our dog has her surgery she will not be able to jump on the couch so I thought it would be nice to spoil her a bit and get her her very own couch that can be folded out into a bed for night time!!! :) I pre-bowled last night so that I can stay home with her Thursday night, hopefully she isn't too much of a suck! ;)

Then Sunday is more racing, it is our last weekend so I'm quite excited about that! And for the rest of my holiday's I would like to paint our new shed that we just built, clean out my flower beds and maybe clean out some cupboards. I think I might also look for some good sales on sweaters for the winter, I am absolutely freezing already and it's not even that cold out yet! I don't know what I'm going to do when it is subzero temps! I also need to start walking again and I think I will just go on the treadmill for now until the dog is healthy enough to go with me. I feel like I need to move more and get active again I just feel so ot of shape! ;)

Lately I feel like I have been so lazy! Since the dog is unable to go for walks I have lost my walking partner. I suppose I could go downstairs and walk the treadmill for a while but I'm too lazy! So I just sit and watch T.V. and relax, last night was "Beauty and the Geek" and "The Biggest Loser" - both were really good. I'm OK with my weigh in this week considering I have been overly lazy lately and we had a birthday party on the weekend. For this weeks weigh in ....

Not bad ? As long as I stay in that 5lb range I am happy, although I do prefer to see the 16_# instead! I think we are going for supper tonight, to the Red Lobster. I'm not much of a seafood lover but my hubby is and they have a good grilled chicken that I usually get. I can hardly wait for this week to be over!! I start my holiday's on Friday and am excited to relax a little more and not have to worry about going into work! I plan on cleaning out my flower beds, babysitting the dog (after her surgery) and hopefully getting some visiting done! Hopefully I'll still be able to find time to blog and keep you up to date? ;)

Winter is definitely quickly approaching, it has been so cold lately, maybe it's cause I have less 'insulation' but I am awful cold lately and it's not even winter yet! I think I need to go buy some nice sweaters, all the one's I have right now are much too big for me - which is nice around the house but when I go out I feel like they make me look bigger then I really am! ?

The weekend was good, racing of course all weekend - Friday was the

regular Street Legal night where anything exciting rarely happens! Saturday went fairly smooth except for when there were incidences at the oval and they had to use our ambulance so we couldn't race till the ambulance got back. After the races on Saturday we had a 50th Birthday party to attend, my in-laws neighbor who was also our photographer at our wedding. Sunday there was a power outage so we were standing around at the track waiting for the power to go back on (even though there are about 10 generators out there and we could have used one of them). I think everyone is just getting tired of being out at the race track, there is only one more weekend left of racing and then they want to have a Street Legal race on Thanksgiving Monday. Because of racing on Sunday I missed out on my girlfriends baby shower and my nephews birthday party! So, I'm hoping that while I am on holiday's next week I will be able to make a trip out to St.Albert and stop by to visit my girlfriend to see her new baby!

Today is our 2nd year anniversary!! I can't believe it's been two years already! ? It seemed to have flown by! I think we will go out for dinner sometime this week to Red Lobster, it will be a birthday/anniversary dinner combo!

We find out today if our dog is healthy enough to handle surgery! :( Yesterday my hubby took her back to the vet to have her leg looked at again. She is still limping and doesn't like to put any weight on her leg so she holds it off the ground just a little and then it starts to shake. I wish I could have went with him cause apparently our reg doctor gave the new doctor (the one we saw last time) sh*t cause she misdiagnosed a major problem! She told us that it was just inflamed and gave us some "doggie celibrex" and told us to take it easy for 2 weeks and now this vet is telling us that those 2 weeks were vital weeks and we could have done something about this a lot sooner had she not misdiagnosed our dog!? I'm no mad at her, but I definitely won't be scheduling any visits with her anymore!

So apparently (hopefully I get all this right), the vet says that there is a tendon in the knee that helps it bend/ twist (like our knee) and our dog has pulled this tendon. I keep telling everyone she needs a "knee replacement" cause the way my hubby was telling me about the surgery sure did sound like a knee replacement, he told me about how they replace some of the bone where the knee joint is and fix the tendon with what I described as elastic bands (and he agreed they are like elastic bands) -- sounds kinda like a knee replacement? So if we don't get the surgery done then eventually the joint will wear itself down and become very painful for her, to the point where she probably won't walk on it at all. She is only 10yrs old so she does have more years to her life and she is fairly active now so we agreed that surgery would be the best thing for her!

I'm on holidays the first week in October so this is probably when we will get the surgery done so that I can help my hubby out at home with her. I feel so bad for her, she is such a suck when she is sick and I'm sure she will milk it after the surgery. Just like a little kid! She is our baby and I worry about the surgery and how she will be after!? I have faith in this vet, he is the same one that spayed her and amputated her toe for a biopsy. I have never had any problems with this vet which is why I continue to drive the 45 minutes to see him. I just worry now cause she is older and like humans the older you get the harder surgery is on you. I also guess I have to kiss the siding for the garage good-bye this year cause that's about the same price as the estimate for the surgery ($1800)!! :o

Not bad for celebrating my birthday on the weekend and having cake and other unmentionable goodies! ;) Next week is our 2 year anniversary so we will be going out for dinner then too! I am happy with this weigh in and figure that this is where I will probably remain for a long time, in between 168-172.

We have these little aphids (little black flies or 'fruit flies') at work that keep buzzing around me and seriously pissing me off! They keep trying to drink my coffee and eat my fruit! Disgusting! I hate them and wish I knew how to get rid of them! This is one of the only reason that I love winter! No bugs!

After watching the season finale of "Big Brother 8" - which BTW I wasn't too happy about who won. I started watching the new season of "Beauty and the Geek", they have thrown a few twists into this season and it should be interesting to see how everything plays out!? Now I just have to remember to keep watching it. The other show that I can't wait to start is "Amazing Race", I love both of these shows.

Well the weekend went really good, lots of people showed up - some I expected but some I was surprised showed up! My brother and SIL came early cause they had the kids and would have had to leave early, everyone else showed up around 5:30-6pm. We had BBQ hamburgers and hot dogs, the weather was really nice and I even got lots of gifts - that was unexpected! I had to open my gifts in front of everyone and surprisingly there wasn't any "prank" gifts, I got one mystery gift (where they never signed the card) but it is really nice lingerie and not some cheesy gag gift. I was surprised at how early some people left, maybe because the sun sets so early now that it feels a lot later then it really is? And of course we had a few that just wouldn't leave! ;) We finally made it to bed by 3:00am and then got up the next day for breakfast with the in laws! :) It was great!

We didn't do much on Sunday, besides breakfast and clean up a bit. It was a pretty lazy day! Even though I only had a few drinks I still felt drained on Sunday and enjoyed my lazy day! ;) I must have slept funny last night cause this morning my arm is killing me! I can barely move it, my elbow hurts a lot! Maybe it's old age!?

Speaking of old age, the dog doesn't seem to be getting any better and it looks like her leg is bugging her even more now?! I need to make another vet appointment to see what else we can do about her limp, hopefully it won't cost too much to fix her up!?

Well today is my 30th Birthday and I woke up this morning to 30 pink bras and a giant blow up clown on the front yard! I was so expecting penguins .... not bras! I thought the bra thing was for older ladies, ladies that lived through the "burn the bras" days!? I'm so embarrassed -- mostly cause of the giant clown! ! :P

Last night at the bowling alley they made a big announcement on the PA about me turning 30! And tonight we have to work at the Street Legals, where I am also expecting something -- I'm not too sure on what yet but I'm sure there will be another announcement!

Then tomorrow I was suppose to work but I told my boss that I had too much too do and wasn't going to make it in, which he was fine with. So now instead I get to clean the house, go to Costco to pick up supplies, get a hair cut and wait for people to show up for our BBQ! I'm actually expecting quite a few people, maybe like 40? I'm shipping our dog over to the 'grandparents' so that I don't feel like I have to watch her all night and can kind of relax a bit. The weather is suppose to be awesome, which is great cause I really didn't know what I would do if it was crummy weather.

My Dad is spending the night at our house tonight, he is leaving early tomorrow morning for Belize. He lives quite a distance from the airport and we are a little closer so he won't have to get up quite as early. We have friends that live in Belize and he usually goes down once a year to visit but usually it is in Feb not Sept, which is rainy/ hurricane season!

So I'm thinking that today is going to be a long day but at least it is Friday and I can kinda sleep in tomorrow! :) I plan on letting loose a bit (diet wise) for the weekend so I don't expect a very good weigh in next week but you only turn 30 once ... right!? ;) I would love to go for breakfast (bacon n' eggs) on Sunday morning, I haven't done that for a long time! But I guess that depends on how I feel, although I don't plan on drinking at all (not after last weekend!) but I guess we will see what happens! ? I get to POAS tomorrow morning so that will determine a lot of what happens! ;) Keep you fingers crossed but I starting to think that it might be a BFN! :(

I feel like I have every feeling going through me today .... I'm excited, slightly disappointed, a little depressed, grouchy, eager, anxious! ? I think I will be better after the weekend is over, I just have a gazillion thoughts going through my head - mostly about life in general. I am very happy about my weigh in today, it seems like that +5lb gain was probably, most likely due to the wine because for this week....

So it looks like all the weight gained last week has been lost this week (except for 0.2lbs but that's minor). I took the dog off her "bed rest" and have started walking her again, just short walks but they still seem to affect her leg?! We need to take her back to the vet to either get more medication or to pursue other options? I don't think it hurts her, it's not like she is whining as she walks, but I do feel bad for her and wish her leg would get better?!

The leaves are starting to change color, I absolutely love this time of year - not too hot, not too cold and very pretty colors. Although today is a little colder then most fall days, it feels like winter is just around the corner!? I'm not a big fan of winter but this year I would like to do a little more winter sports like maybe take my nephew tobogganing once and a while or go to the ski hill.

I was awfully tired this morning and almost slept in, it's a good thing I had a shower last night cause there was no time this morning! The weekend was good, full of racing and nothing too exciting happened which is good. We were having some issues with moisture on the track, due to all the rain we have had recently and because the track is built on swamp land the water table seems to be quite high so we kept having to check the track for water making the day seem a lot longer then it should have been!

I have a busy week as well and don't think I will have any time to rest, I need to get everything ready for my b-day party this weekend and since we have bowling on Thursday night and a Street Legal race on Friday night plus I'm suppose to work Saturday morning it looks like the only time I will have to do anything is the beginning of the week!? I need to make a salad and chili, clean the house, wash the sheets in the spare room and go grocery shopping for other snack food! I think I will opt out of working on Sat. I just have way too much to do, the hubby offered to help but I have other plans for him!! he he ... He needs to do all the outdoor stuff like finish working on the POS in the garage, clean up the driveway, mow the lawn and finish the shed!! All this needs to be done by Wed ... crazy! :P

On a lighter note ..... I snuck a peak at the scale ... I know I shouldn't have and it usually makes for bad news on weigh in day but so far the scale says I'm back down to 170 so maybe that +5lb gain was from too much wine!? I also feel a little better now, my queasiness has seamed to settle and my back ache has moved up and now my teeth seem to be sore - weird !? ? Maybe it was a mild case of the flu ? Hopefully I'll be 100% by Friday!! ;)

Well I did call in sick yesterday, it didn't help much - just let me sleep in for a bit. I'm back at work today and my back still feels funny, I feel like I have a lot of pressure on me - if that makes any sense? Like if someone was sitting on my stomach? I'll give it a little longer before I go to a doctor though, cause I'm stubborn like that! Last night was our first night back at bowling, it was nice to see everyone again. We found out that the guy that has been our "president" for the past few years is not coming back this year so we need to elect a new one. Me and the hubby are also debating if we want to be the ones to buy gifts this year. I think it would be fun and I really do enjoy looking in the flyer's and finding deals but it's the shopping part that bugs me! Dealing with the sales crowds and Boxing day crowds ... just to get the deal! :P It was quite a long night and I am even more tired today ~~ almost slept in this morning!

This weekend is full of racing, one of the last full weekends, the season is almost over - which couldn't come any quicker! I don't think we are going to have the garage sided before my b-day. I didn't want to have it half done or have a mess in the backyard so we agreed it would probably be best if we just waited. Hopefully that doesn't mean wait till next year and it will hopefully still get done this year, just not till after my party! ? But then again ... it seems like everything we (I) wanted done this year is going to have to wait till next year now !! Like the garage sale, finishing the patio door, put the new sky light in, start on the basement ... just to name a few! :P

I don't get it ..... I'm so confused with my weigh in today!? I'm actually a little mad about it! I have been feeling ill for the past 4 days and have not been eating as much as I should have been. In fact I barely ate anything at all on Sunday and spent most of the day in bed! ? I would have thought that that would account for a loss not a gain!? The only thing I can think of that would amount to this big of a gain is the fact that I have not been taking the dog for her nightly walks! With her being on bed rest for a couple weeks it has made me feel like I can "take it easy" for two weeks too!!!?? But I cleaned the house like crazy on the weekend and cleaned my car inside and out - which was pretty hard work! ? I haven't been cheating, at least not what I would consider a cheat. We had BBQ steak on the weekend but I stuck to my 4oz and ate lots of salad and veggies!? I haven't gone out for any fancy dinners, we went to DQ for dinner last night before grocery shopping but I had a salad! ? I've been keeping up with my water intake, if not more cause of my upset tummy it's about the only drink that doesn't upset it more!? It just sucks! So my numbers for this week are:

I seriously don't get it? I think this is the biggest gain I have ever had!? And although I am almost certain that next week it will go down again I still had to check the scale three times to make sure I was reading it right!? Well at least I did sleep a little better last night except for I woke up in the middle of the night burning up? I was sweating like crazy? I however do feel a little better this morning and don't seem to feel as queasy but my back is killing me! I can't even yawn without feeling sharp pains in my back and rib cage? Well - hopefully next week will show better numbers or I may have to switch to once a month weigh in's!?

Weekend Review

The weekend was fairly busy and yet I feel like I got nothing done! ? The weekend started Friday after work with the Street Legals, it was a good night with racing that lasted till about 11:30pm. A new Corvette hit the wall which caused a delay- we had to stop and clean it up but then it started raining so we just gave up and called the race. After racing we went out to BP's with some of the staff and didn't get home till 2am.

Then on Saturday my hubby started working in the garage early with his buddy and I headed off to St.Albert. I stopped in at my SIL's to pick up a bowl she had of mine and had a quick visit, then off to my Dad's for another quick visit and to drop off my camera for him to take on his trip. Then off to my scrapbook ladies house to pick up my prize and to purchase supplies for my winter projects. I spent a little more then I had expected but at least I shouldn't have to buy anything for a while! ? I was hoping to stop at the Farmers Market and make a few more visiting stops on my way but I started to feel like crap so I headed home. When I got home I started cleaning and got all my chores done before supper! The hubbies friend was still over and the were still working on his car so we had them (him and his girlfriend) over for supper and I decided to open a bottle of wine. I am now thinking that I should have left the wine alone! Another couple came over for a visit and so all three of us girls were sitting on the deck drinking wine while the boys were in the garage. We went through 7 bottles of wine!! We were up till 4am sitting around the fire talking and the next day I felt like total crap! My tummy was doing flip flops like crazy and I couldn't keep anything down! The only thing I had all day was a banana, half a pear, and some soup for supper. It was horrible! Needless to say I went to bed early!

On Monday I decided to put my fall/ Halloween stuff out and I washed my car. The hubbies friend helped him build a new shed for us cause he helped him on his car. We have to build this new shed to put all the stuff in it from the old shed, then tare down the old shed, side the garage and move the new shed back to where the old shed was. Pain in the butt if you ask me and I think the shed is going to be impossible to move after it is built!? My Mom also called yesterday to see if I had a passport but I told her that mine had expired a few years ago. She was going to buy tickets to Vegas for my b-day and take me with her but since I don't have a passport I can't go! ? :( Oh- well maybe next year!?

I was up again for most of last night with a gutt ache again!? It feels like heart burn, indigestion, and nausea all in one!? I feel like crap - I've got this gaggy feeling in my throat every time I stand up. I hate how on the days you feel like crap always seem to be the busiest!? The phone won't stop ringing which is making me get up to pick my orders!? grrr I hope I feel better tonight or it is going to be another long night?!

The hubby took our dog to the vet yesterday, she has been limping around for about a week and a half and it hasn't been getting any better so we decided to take her in. She is an older dog (a Rottie) and has some lumps and bumps on her which the vet says are normal as a dog gets older. But one of these lumps is on her hind leg, right where the leg joint joins the hip bone, this lump is what we think is causing her to limp around. My biggest worry is that because she is walking funny and seems to be favoring her other leg that she may affect her hip joints and in a large breed dog that could mean hip dysplasia!? My other fear is that the vet is going to recommend to remove this lump and do a biopsy, I'm afraid they will find out it is cancer!?

So the vet recommends for our dog to "take it easy" for 10 days, this means NO WALKING!! :O For 10 days!! At first I thought this was an excellent idea - a 10 day vacation for me! ;) But then I forgot how she stares me down after supper and won't leave me alone until she gets to go outside! grrrr It's frustrating, having her stare at me with a slight whine! We also got some anti-inflammatory pills for her, they are like horse pills (huge), she needs to also take these for 10 days - with food, of course! Oh - and they weighed her .... she lost another 5lbs! Now she is 85lbs!! Right where she should be!

I feel good today, maybe I woke up on the right side of the bed for a change!? ;) Although I have been very tired lately and almost slept in this morning. I think it is the change in weather, it is starting to get darker earlier and the temperature in the evenings drops to sub-zero temps! Winter is coming and this year I will have to buy a winter jacket. Previous years I have been able to just wear a sweater because I had my own built in insulation, he he, but this year I don't have much insulation left! I would love to get a winter jacket that didn't make me look like a fluff ball with arms and legs! Of course I saw some really nice jackets at Costco last week but we went there the other night and they were all gone! Typical Costco .... if you see something you want there you have to buy it right away cause it might not be there when you go back!

I was pleasantly surprised when I stepped on the scale this morning. I am back in the 16_'s where I would like to be. Not too much planned for this week, this weekend is a long weekend and I would like to get some stuff done around the house before my b-day party. I think we are going shopping tonight to buy a new shed so we can rip down the old one. I think we will also buy all the supplies needed to side the garage?! I plan on going out to St.Albert on Saturday, I need to go to my scrapbook suppliers house and pick up a prize I won and I also want to pick up more supplies to get me through the winter. I think the next album I am going to do is "our house" album. That's about all ... for now! ;)

The weekend turned out to be pretty good, Friday was the street legals at the track with a record breaking 207 cars! It was a very busy night and ended around 11:30pm. Saturday was the NAPD diesel truck "black-out" which was very stinky and smokey. After their race there was a junior rental that I decided to stick around and watch. I ended up staying a little longer then expected and felt a little bad cause my hubby had left hours before me. I had visions of him sitting at home alone waiting for me so I decided to leave around 11pm to go see him but when I got home there was a note saying that he decided to go out carousing so it was me that was left home alone to wait for him! :( Sunday was a regular race day but got rained out so we were home fairly early. There are no races on the long weekend (except Friday street legals) so everyone is going to Drayton Valley to race. I have never been to another race track besides ours so I think it would be neat to go watch but it would be even nicer if we had a car to race! I also was hoping to get some stuff done around the house so I doubt we will go?!

The weather has been horrible lately, feels like winter is coming fast!? Hopefully it will get nice again before the white stuff falls! ? I would like to have a nice Halloween this year. It was nice a few years ago when it didn't snow until Christmas - it would be nice if that happened again but I don't think it will!? Not too much else is new with me, no big plans this week except maybe clean the house a bit. We have been so busy lately that the house has been neglected and now you can write your name in the dust! Time to do some fall cleaning!

I went for coffee yesterday with an old friend I found on Facebook, it was so nice to catch up with her and hear all the latest gossip. She always was a good gossiper and seemed to know a little about everyone. If you wanted to know the scoop on anyone she usually would have something to say about them!? I'm not sure how she got all her info but it was always fun to hear the dirt - he he. She really hasn't changed much, besides the fact that she is married now. We talked for about 2 hours and then I headed home, it was fun seeing her again and hopefully we will do it again soon!

I also picked up my rings yesterday from getting sized, I missed my rings greatly and it feels so good to be able to wear them again! I was also looking around at the jewelers when I was there ... just to see what they had, but boy were their prices expensive!! I think they try to trick you cause they had these huge price tags on their rings and after you look at one you like they say it's on sale for this outrageous price (like half off) so you feel better about spending only $2500 as opposed to $5000 for a ring! :O Which I don't think I would ever spend $2500 on a ring but after he gave me the "sale" price it didn't feel so bad to spend that much on a ring. Where if he just told me the sale price right away I would have just walked away! I don't think there really is a sale I think they just raise the prices so you feel like you are getting this big deal that you just can't resist cause it's on "sale"?? Make sense ?

There are races this weekend but I don't want to stay out at the track, I think we will come home every night. Tonight is the boring street legals, tomorrow is a diesel "blackout" (which will be stinky and smokey), then Sunday is the regular weekend races. After this weekend we should have three weekends off from racing!!! I am hoping to get LOTS done around the house on the long weekend, hopefully building a new shed and siding the garage! And the third weekend in September is my big 3-0 birthday bash at our house so I need to get things organized for that. We also are suppose to start a new season of bowling soon too, Sept 6th I think!?! We play 5 pin every Thursday night (9pm - 11ish), it usually makes for a rough Friday but it's fun and gets us out in the winter.

Today is my one year anniversary on my weight loss journey!! It's hard to believe that I started a whole year ago! ? It doesn't feel like I have been trying to loose weight for a entire year and I feel like I was successful at it too! ;) One year ago today I weighed in at 251.8lbs, it was quite the wake up call, I honestly had no idea that I weighed that much and when I looked at myself in the mirror I always told myself that I didn't look that big and that I must carry my weight well!?! I think this is just what I told myself to make myself feel better, when in fact I look back now at old pictures and think "holy sh*t - I was big"!! I feel like I will continue to be on this journey for the rest of my life and hopefully it will get easier as I go along but I don't want it to feel too easy or I might slip back into my old ways and slowly put the weight back on! I still need to weigh in every week (for now) and I still need to do a mental check on how much water, fruit, veggies and dairy I have had for the day. I'm not saying that I am going to be super strict about my diet but rather I need to still make good decisions when it comes to eating out. I will still take the dog for her walks and I want to go back to bowling this winter. So for this weeks weigh in:

I have lost -80.8lbs after one year and even though I am not at my original goal I am happy with where I am at. I went from being in a plus size 22 to a regular size 9!!! Which I don't ever remember being, even though I'm sure it's because of vanity sizing now a days but it's still a size 9!! ;) I feel like I have more self confidence then I have ever had and I actually feel like people are looking at me and not just some fat lady. I definitely think that I owe a little credit to my friends and family, without their support I don't think I would have carried on with the diet as long as I have. My hubby was especially patient and now reaps the benefits of a skinnier me!! ;) The other day I came home from work to find a movie on the counter (Barnyard - it's a cartoon) and when I went to put my lunch bag away I found another move (Flushed away - another cartoon) that he had bought for me..... one "just because" and the other for my one year anniversary on the diet! He also bought himself a movie (Wild hogs - with John Travolta and Tim Alan) we watched it last night, it was really good! We also had nachos and popcorn - my two weaknesses but as you can see I still lost -0.4lbs so I must have been smart about portion size!?

So I would just like to thank my family and friends for never making me feel like I needed to loose weight but supporting me while I did. They accepted me the way I was and I'm sure they will continue to love me the way I am. I love you guys/ gals and thank you for never looking at me funny when I brought my own food to gatherngs !! :)

Weekend Review

Well the weekend was good, I was so happy when Friday ended and the weekend was about to begin! No more babysitting the drivers or helping the "ass man" do his job! Hubby picked me up at 4:30 on Friday and we headed straight out to Robb, only stopping at the local truck stop for a quick bite to eat. The drive out was very nice especially when we turned off highway 16 and started heading down the secondary highway. We were so close to the mountains that you could almost see them and the pine trees seemed to take over towering above the highway. It was a really pretty drive into the town and when we finally got there we only had to drive around for about 5 minutes before we found family! They directed us to the school where my in laws were camped and we made ourselves at home! It was very foggy almost the entire time we were out there and was very cold and damp for the middle of August. We played a couple games of boccie and sat by the fire for a bit before heading to bed. The next day was the wedding and we helped set up the tent for the ceremony, everything was very classy for a outdoor country wedding. The reception was also a very good time I tried to dance quite a bit to help work off dinner. We stayed for most of the gift opening and headed home at 12:30. On the way home we stopped at my Dad's to pick up the dog and have a quick visit. My brother and SIL were there with their kids so we go to had a visit with them as well. We finally got home at 4:30!! It felt so nice to be home, even though family made us feel more then welcome when we were there it was still a good feeling to have a shower and relax on the couch! ;)

After work today we need to go out to St.Albert to drop my dog off at my Dads so he can babysit her while we are out of town at the wedding. I'm a little worried about this, only because lately her legs have been bothering her. Last night she was limping a lot and her hind legs would shake if she would stand on them too long. This morning there is no change, she limped her way into the living room to have oatmeal with my hubby. She is getting old, 11yrs, and I am a little worried that since she is a Rottie she may have hip dispalsia (sp?), which is apparently very common in Rottie's. Hopefully it is just sore bones from all the rain we have had lately but I hate leaving her when she isn't feeling very well. It's like leaving your baby with a sitter when they have a cold! ?

Only one and a half more days till my boss is back and it seems like each day is getting harder and harder. I think I definitely have the more stressful of jobs here and honestly don't think I get paid enough to "baby sit" the so called "assistant manager", I think I am going to ask for a raise when my boss gets back and hopefully I will be backed up by our salesman to tell him how much I did!

I can't help but feel slightly disappointed with my weigh in this week, maybe it's because TOM is coming, maybe it's a little bit of guilt for indulging too much? My shopping trip last night wasn't half as much fun as it was the last time I went!? Nothing seemed to fit right and I had to keep getting larger sizes!!!! :o And the sales people working at the store were no help at all so I had to keep getting re-dressed to go grab different sizes! I wish she would have asked me how I was doing and then I could have asked her to get me a larger size! I did end up finding some new clothes - dress pants with a very light brown pin strip in them, a dress shirt that is crushed suede and two new casual tops that will be good for cooler weather! ;) Never again will I go shopping when it is the week that TOM is coming! @$%&^@

So I should have know better then to sneak a peak at the scale earlier this week, it made my expectations for today too high! Not that my weigh in today was horrible, it's just that 3 days ago I weighed in at less then what I weighed in today so I feel like I got robbed those pounds? I can't think of anything I did differently from 3 days ago till today? Well - actually that is kinda a lie .... we did have tomato and bacon sandwiches for supper the other night and of course I only had one sandwich.... with a side of extra bacon! :o he he Well I'm sure you all want to know just how bad it was and what all my commotion is about -- honestly it's not bad... I still lost .... just not as much as I had hoped for!

See it's not that bad .... I still lost, and I am happy about it - I just should have never snuck that peak! And if you noticed, next week will be my one year anniversary!!! I can hardly believe it - it went by so fast! I feel like this is the longest journey I have ever been on and will be on for the rest of my life! I wish that I was like one of those girls that doesn't even have a clue on what a calorie is, they can eat what ever their little hearts desire and still be thin!? How do they do it!? And why did they get blessed with a high metabolism and not me!? Why do I have to watch my diet for the rest of my life?! I wonder if it's because I wasn't a very active kid? Maybe they were in tons of sports which trained their metabolism early?! I sure hope my kids don't have to watch their diet as much as me and are blessed with my hubbies metabolism! ;)

I am counting down the days until my boss returns, I have 4 more - including today! I can hardly wait till he gets back, I hate dispatching! I feel like I have to babysit them (the drivers) all the time and the one time I don't go in the back to check off what parts they brought back is the one time that parts are missing or get delivered to places that weren't billed for them! ? It's not like these drivers are new, they have been working with us since we opened our door two years ago, they should know how to do their job by now with me telling them! And to top things off the guy that is suppose to be the assistant manager has all of a sudden denied the position and claims that he is not the 'ass man' and that he merely just has a key to get into the building! ? Which leaves me doing all the paper work and cashing out! Yesterday was a super bad day - I was totally stressed by the time I had to go home! I am hoping that the missing parts from yesterday will turn up sometime today and I'm hoping that the guy that also answers the phone helps a little more. He is much to old to be working and I feel that he should be retired already. Everyday I have to tell him how to do his job, it's like he forgets from the day before - maybe the beginnings of altzimers!? Anyway - he should take more days off, it would be less stressful for me! I'm going to give my boss a hug when he gets back and if he expects me to do this next time I will definitely be needing a raise! :P

I'm going shopping tonight, we have a wedding this weekend out of town (close to the mountains), I'm expecting it to be cold so I need a warmer outfit then the one I wore to the wedding last month plus I just want new cloths! I'm not sure if I want a pant suit or dress, but whatever I decide to get tonight will also be my outfit for the track banquet in October. I'll have to see what's on sale!? I am also going to bring my rings with me to get sized, I miss my rings - especially my wedding band and can hardly wait to be able to wear them again! The track is finishing off the race that got rained out last week so I will be home alone tonight. :(

I remember before I started dieting everyone would tell you to make sure and drink 6-8 glasses of water! I always kind of thought that this was just a myth to help fill you up so you didn't eat as much!~? I tried not to drink too much water, I feel like I pee enough as it is and didn't really need help in that department! If anything I thought I would probably get more exercise from having to walk to the bathroom every hour! he he I am now a huge believer in making sure to get my 6-8 glasses of good ole H2O! As you probably already know I let loose a bit in Edson and ended up gaining +4lbs over the weekend (I blame the booze) LOL ;) But since Wednesday weigh in I have been back on track with my water intake and have drinking it like crazy! I am happy to say that this morning I snuck a peak at the scale and jumped on to see if I was doing any better, well I am back down to 169.4 (unofficial), yeah! I find it so odd that by just making sure to drink your water your weight can fluctuate that much!? I haven't changed my diet, in fact I feel like I am eating more now then I ever have and yet I am down 2.6lbs in 2 days! The only answer is that it was all water weight!?

We are suppose to be working at the race tack tonight but it is raining outside! So if it doesn't clear up by 4:00 this afternoon they will probably cancel the race, not that I would be too upset about that - it's just a street legal! ;) The rest of the weekend is suppose to be nice, it is the "bike drags" this weekend at the track and I think I will work it this time. I told them at the beginning of the year that I didn't want to do the bike's but I guess the lady doing my job at the last one sucked so they are kinda hoping that I will work this one, even though I have never really said I would and they have never really asked me if I would!? I'm not sure if we will work at the track full time next year or not, we didn't get anything done this year around the house! We had planned to do so much this year - finish or start the basement, side the garage, build new sheds, install the new sky light, finish the patio door .... the list goes on! We didn't get one of those things done and I think we will be lucky if we get the garage sided by my birthday party!

Not so nice out ...

Well I made it through another busy day at work and haven't been fired yet! ;) Only one call from the boss about my cash out and some missing invoices but that's all! :) It wasn't very nice out yesterday but I still took the dog for her walk after supper, I feel like I have to get back on track. After our walk I decided to make cookies. A few months ago I bought some cookie dough from my niece who was selling it as a fundraiser for dance. It is pre-mixed cookie dough and all you have to do is scoop it onto the pan and throw into the oven! Super simple -- but because it has been so hot out lately I have been putting off baking cookies. They turned out pretty good and made quite a few, I still have one more tub of dough to make - maybe in a few weeks!?

The races also got rained out last night which means we will probably have to finish them off on the next race weekend. This weekend is the "bike drags" but the weather doesn't look too promising - I think it will get rained out too!?

I stayed up much too late last night reading Harry Potter, not the new book but The Chamber of Secrets. I have watched the movies and really enjoyed them and I always heard people talk about the books and how good they are so I thought I would give the books a try. I'm glad I did, it has been a long time since I've read a book that I actually enjoyed! I can't wait to start reading the next book, which I have already bought. I have a coffee date tonight with my best est bud and a girl I haven't seen in about 10 years ? We found each other again on Facebook and decided we need to met for coffee to reminisce on the old times! ;) It should be tons of fun but hopefully I won't stay up late again, I really need to catch up on my sleep! :o

Week 50 = 172.0lbs

I hate how it seems so hard to loose the weight but yet one "fun" weekend can set you back weeks of hard work! Although I am not entirely disappointed about this gain, it was all in fun - one weekend of fun. I will get back on track with my water and veggies and in no time will be back in the 16_'s. It just amazes me at how easy it would be to gain it all back, if you weren't watching the scale every week by the end of the month you could be almost 20lbs up at this rate! ? Which is exactly why I plan on weighing myself every week even on maintenance, at least for the first 6 months till I know I am on track.

There is a big race at the track tonight but I'm not going! I would have had to take this afternoon off work and probably tomorrow morning too and I was not about to do that! It is a big night race with 8 jet cars, the show probably won't be over till midnight and by the time you fight the crowd to get out of he parking lot it would be close to 1am by the time I got home! Another busy day today at work - I have stock orders to pick, returns to write up and the phone won't stop ringing! So I best be going ..... back to work! ;)

Weekend Review

It was a very good, long weekend - starting with Friday and the drive out to Edson after work! I was able to sneak out a little early from work and picked up my Dad, then headed home to load up the car and get the dog. We were all loaded up and hit the road at about 5:40pm but me being an idiot I ended up taking the scenic way to get out of town, it took us an hour just to get to Spruce Grove! Which is normally about a 30min drive! he he We finally found a place to have supper and made it out to Edson by 9:30!! (Normally it is about a two hour drive to get to Edson - took me 4hrs!!) :O Needless to say we missed their first game, which they lost.

Now since my memory is terrible I can't recall which game we won but we did end up winning one of the four games we played! It was a really close game, every game is on a hour and a half deadline so after the hour and a half of playing was over we were tied with the other team. We had to play two more innings in order to break the tie, which we did and won the game! Our games were spaced out nice, which was kinda good but also bad... with the delay between games a lot of our players just kept drinking, they would start in the morning with either Baileys in their coffee or a beer and just keep going until they crashed (usually around 2am)! The only problem that I had with them drinking so much was that they were almost too drunk to play! But the weekend was about having a good time and I'm sure everyone did!

I ended up bringing a lot of my own food, I wouldn't say that I was letting loose with what I ate but I also didn't worry about having a hand full of chips or potato salad with supper. I did still take the dog for her walks at night and I tried to eat extra fruit and yogurt when I started feeling hungry. I wish I would have played this year, I am in better shape this year then I have been in previous years and I think I could have done really good! ? Although my calves are sore and I feel as if I did play ball? Maybe it's just sympathy pains for the team! ? he he I guess we will see tomorrow just how "bad" of a weekend I had, diet wise.

My boss is on holiday's for the next two weeks so I am in charge of doing all the work that he normally does, so I may not have as much time to post as I normally do. I'm hoping to be able to post a little everyday still but don't hold your breath! I may be too busy! ? ;)

Hubby left yesterday to go to the ball tournament so I was home alone! I decided to dye my hair since I was home alone! he he It turned out pretty good, I think!? I bought this kit at Shopper's that was on sale for $20, it was a streak kit. I was thinking of going blonde but of course I chickened out and bought the kit that was a little more what I'm used to. I had to do a complete dye job first, which came out as a mahogany color. Then I tried to do streaks but it was kinda hard to do them by myself, they turned out quite orange - more red then I thought they would be!? I was hoping they would be a little lighter but I think it looks OK. It took almost an hour to dye and streak my hair, hubby doesn't know that I did it so we will see how long it takes for him to notice tonight! ? ;)

After work today I have to go pick up my Dad from his job, go home and pick up the dog and all our stuff (clothes/ food), stop for dinner and then we will be on the highway headed to Edson! It should take us about two hours to get there, just in time to see the teams first game! I'm so looking forward to this weekend, it should be tons of fun and relaxing for me (since I'm not playing). I'm kinda dreading the drive on the highway, the roads always seem to be worse on long weekends, everyone is in such a hurry and drive like idiots! Hopefully since we are leaving so late we won't run into any moron drivers! ;)

Week 49=168lbs

I feel like I am loosing more weight now than I did when I was actually trying!? I have been adding more protein/ dairy everyday and if I feel like having a snack I usually don't think twice about it. I am still trying to eat healthy and instead of having a cookie for a snack I would probably have a salad or apple. I was pleasantly surprised when I stepped on the scale this morning, I was hoping to see a 169 but was amazed at the 168!! I received my last NS order yesterday and too my disappointment there was only my 80lb bear in the box~!! I was so hoping they would feel pity on me and send my goal bear, seeing's how I wanted this to be my last order. I could call them and ask for them to send the rest of my bears out since I am so close to goal and probably won't be ordering anymore NS food but I kinda feel like I'm cheating if I do that?! I haven't really earned my goal bear yet or my 90lb bear and it may take me another 3 months to get to that point. I think I will just wait a bit and maybe in 2-3 months I will just put a ala carte order in and hopefully they will send my bears then (when I've earned them)!? If I ever do? :P

When I was at the farmer's market on the weekend I bought this soup (lentil soup) that all you have too do is add 10 cups of water to it and whala! So I decided to make it a few days ago, what I didn't know when I bought the bag of beans and seasoning is that it recommends to cook the soup on the stove for 2 hours!! Well with this heat wave we have been having I was not about to turn my stove on for 2 hours just to heat up the house. So instead they had instructions to cook it in a slow cooker for 6-8 hours! So this is how I cooked it, it turned out pretty good, I added extra carrots and onions to it. It turned out like split pea soup, next time I think I will add more protein like some chicken or ham!? It made enough soup for 6 days lunch, not bad for $6.00!

This weekend is the annual slow-pitch tournament in Edson. My hubbies family goes to it every year, they have a team that is entered to play and usually they do fairly good - especially for a team that only plays once a year! This weekend is kinda like a family reunion/ get together, it is nice cause my family never used to get together for anything except Christmas, Easter and maybe Thanksgiving! Games start Friday and teams come from all over to play, for the more serious leagues it is quite the tournament but for teams like ours it is all about having a good time! There are 24 diamonds and they are usually full from 8am till 8pm, all weekend! They usually have a "home run contest" that I have never gone to watch but have always wanted too, maybe this year? I played once on the team and was hurtin for like a week after! This year I will not be playing even though I am probably in better shape now then I was 3 years ago when I played? I'll play if they need me too but so far I'm not on the list. For the last couple of years our team name has been "Wickedly Awesome 2", we wore bright yellow and orange t-shirts with 6R and 9R on the backs of them so we were the 69R's ! he he This year they are changing our team name and jersey too a farm animal theme, I forget the name of the team but it is something like "Farmer Tator Tot's Team" ? My hubbies uncle is the coach and he will be "Farmer Tator" and all the players will be his farm animals. The t-shirts have different animals on them to depict what they are, there are horses, cows, cats (pussies), dogs (b*tchs), a donkey (a$$), pig and a rooster (cock) oh, and a sheep that the farmer might chase every so often with velcro gloves! -- it should be fun! he he Hopefully it is good weather this year, one year it snowed and we were playing ball with toques and mittens!

Weekend Review

Boy was it hot this weekend!! The heat sure does help with the weight loss. You don't even have to do anything physical, I was sweating by just being outside! Instead of taking the dog for her walks in the evening after supper I decided to take her in the morning when it was still cool outside. I would like to get into the habit of doing this during the week too but I'm not a morning person and I think it would take me a very long time to get into that habit! ;) We set up our little plastic kiddie pool for the dog and changed the water in it for when friends came over and their little girl went for a swim.

Friday night we went downtown to see some friends and of course stayed out too late, we never got home till 2am! Then Saturday I had to get up fairly early to pick up my MIL too go to the Farmer's Market. Saturday was an awesome day, I'm so glad I got it off work! We met my Dad at the market and took our time walking through it, I found my hubbies sauerkraut perogies that he likes and also picked up some baby potatoes and baby carrots. After we walked around for almost an hour we went for lunch and met my SIL and niece's (which I haven't seen for a very long time), we had a good visit and 2 hours later we headed off to the car show! My Mom met us at the show and we walked around for a bit but it was so hot by that time that it was almost unbearable! My hubby was helping work at it, his station was the "buck a hit" truck, with all money being donated to the Stollery Hospital. But since it was so hot not too many people felt like swinging a sledge hammer! Saturday night we went downtown again but there wasn't too many people out, we did however get to watch a bit of the fireworks from the Exhibition and there was some kind of bar fight beside us that needed four cop cars and two ambulances too control the scene! There was also a foot chase involved, it was quite exciting!! :)

Sunday was quieter, I cleaned the house a bit and the hubbies friend came over to work in the garage. Later that night his girlfriend and kid came over and we had a BBQ, steak and my baby potatoes and carrots that I had just bought at the market with salad! It was very yummy! It was a good night except for the fact that the house was too hot to sleep in, making it a very long night. I think I tossed and turned till midnight when it finally started cooling down enough to sleep! Hopefully tonight isn't as hot and I can have a good night's sleep! ;)

I'm so glad the weekend is finally here!! Although the week did seem to go by fast I still like weekends! ;) I'm so excited for tomorrow and the farmer's market, just in time too - I really need some fresh veggies for lunch and some fresh fruit would be nice too! I am going to put a cooler in the

back of my car with ice packs so that we don't feel rushed to get home, we can take our time, go for lunch and the car show. Today is one of our driver's last day, our best driver's last day! We always loose the good one's, she is quiting to go work at a "doggie daycare" !! How fun does that sound!? She takes her own dog to this place and they have nap time and snack time just like a normal day care but this one is for dogs!? She is going to get paid to play with puppies all day! I think that is awesome - something I think I would like to do!? So last night I went shopping to Costco and found some gifts for her (I had to go anyway so I volunteered to buy her something), they already have Christmas stuff out at Costco!!! :o I was hoping to find a basket of some sort but they didn't have anything so I just got a set of flower pots, a vase and a calendar pack with puppies on it. All that for only $30! We are also going to be having a BBQ today for her so I brought some FF hot dogs for myself while everyone else has burgers.

I am slightly surprised by this loss, I have increased my food intake and I am still loosing weight!? Not that I'm complaining, it sure did feel good to look at the scale and see 169!!! But I'm sure next week it will go back up again, I think I am at the point now that my weight will fluctuate every week. I am so hoping that I don't become a statistic and end up gaining weight back over the next few years! It seems like everyone I know or have heard of that has lost a significant amount of weight ends up gaining it all back within a few years (most times they gain more then they lost)! I really don't want to have to go through this again and again! Hopefully as long as I keep that train of thought I will stay on track!

I have my last order on it's way from NS, hopefully it has my last bears in it too! Even though I haven't technically reached the goal I set for myself almost a year ago, I am hoping that I was close enough that they would feel pity on me and still send my goal bear!? I will not be ordering anymore food through NS so after this last order I will be 100% on my own! I believe I have learned enough to keep me on track and I believe that this last order will last me a very long time! However I do like the convenience of NS and will probably miss the grab and go type food, I am hoping to find replacement items at the grocery store that will be equivalent. I will still do my weekly weigh in's for at least the first few month's on my own but I think eventually I will cut down on my weigh in's and only do it once a month!?

I'm so happy I work where I do, my boss has got to be the most easiest going guy around. Most people that work for this company are, they treat you like family, you are more then a number to them, and I like that. I say this because I was suppose to work this weekend but I gathered some nerve and asked my boss if I could have it off instead. I haven't worked a Sat in a really long time and I am probably due too work one. My boss has been super good at letting me go early on Fridays so I can work my "part time" job and very flexible with me working Saturday's. Now I don't need this Sat off since there are no race's this weekend but I was really hoping to go to the Farmer's Market in my home town. They have thee best farmer's market ever!! I bet there are over 150 booths set up, you can get anything from carrots too flowers and even homemade crafts! So I asked if I could have it off and he said yes!! YAH ! So this Sat I will be taking my mom's to the farmers market and then we will stop at a car show that my hubby is helping at. It should be an awesome weekend, especially now that I don't have to work!! ;)

I was mad yesterday .... I couldn't get on Facebook!! :o It's a good thing we were short staffed so I stayed fairly busy answering phones all day! Have no fear .... I already checked and it is back up running today! he he I'm so addicted, plus I was worried that all my info and stuff was floating around in web space for anyone to find!? LOL

I think I have decided that I am done trying to loose weight, I'm happy with where I'm at and I'm tired of always thinking about it. I have increased my food intake, not by much - I've added a fruit and dairy serving for the day, and I have a way bigger salad for supper then I used to. I know these are things that I shouldn't even consider as "add on's" because there is no way you are going to gain weight from eating a bigger salad and more fruit, but I still want to eat healthy. I guess we will see tomorrow just how the week went but I think I will change my goal weight too 170 and try too maintain that weight for now.

Well the weekend wasn't too bad, Friday night street legals went fairly well until the end of the night when a "problem racer" blew his engine and almost hit the wall! Then it started raining so we were unable to clean it up that night and had to clean it in the morning. I call him a "problem racer" because he apparently was giving everyone a hard time about his car, when tech asked him questions he lied to them and when safety wanted to shut his car off after his engine blew he denied that it had blown up and claimed it was just water?! Needless to say this driver will be getting a letter from the drag manager telling him that he is not welcome back!

Saturday and Sunday were also fairly smooth races .... for a change! :) On Sat. night I went for a shower at a truck stop that is close by and when I got back I was going to go over to the oval races too watch for a bit but got stopped by one of my co-workers (on the drag side). He was giving me a guilt trip and kinda pressuring me too buy a trailer. I don't think I've ever

mentioned it but the lady I work with in the tower was interested in buying this guys trailer cause it's bigger then hers and I kinda mentioned how I might be interested in buying hers cause it has a bathroom and ours doesn't. So now I guess this guy made an offer on a trailer and was hoping to sell his to the other lady

in the tower but she won't commit to buying his till she sells hers -- make sense? Anyway so my hubby looked at her trailer and said it is way too small, he doesn't want it!!! So the guy that made an offer on another trailer is going to loose his deposit cause now this lady isn't going to buy his and we aren't going to buy hers? ? ! What a story hey? Not that I'm going to loose sleep over the deal and not that it's in any way my fault that this guy is going to loose his deposit, in fact I find it a little humorous!? oh well... :P

I also got a guilt trip from the drag manager about how I am taking my birthday weekend off. The other tower lady wants too take the same Sunday off as me and they both seem to think that I should just change my birthday party too the weekend before! Which maybe I would have if they hadn't screwed me around for the Nationals! But since they didn't do me any favors for working that day I don't really feel like doing them any favors! It may sound childish but I am not going to change my plans just to make their lives a little easier! I signed up for part time at the race track and I already have worked way more then I planned on!! The drag manager is just going to have to figure it out on her own, and maybe if she treated me a little better at the last race I would be more co-operative now!

I am once again tired from the long weekend and was hoping to go to bed early tonight but had forgotten that today is my FIL Birthday!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY FIL!! :) So we will be going out for dinner this evening with them! Not sure where yet but I'm not picky, anything is better then cooking at home especially in this heat! ;)

Well, back to the race track tonight after having a week off! Last night I had to pack all our food and get everything organized, I had forgotten how much of a chore it is to get everything ready! :P I am hoping that everyone has relaxed a bit from the last race. I'm still a little bitter about how I think I was tricked into working the tower all weekend! But that's the way I am, I always hold grudges - I know it's petty little crap that I shouldn't waste time thinking about but I do!? I feel like I am at the yo-yo part of my weight loss journey, one week I loose the next I gain?! Although I am quite happy with this teeny little gain considering I went to a Ukrainian wedding with perogies and cabbage rolls, I indulged in too much wine, went for dinner with our German friends and have been way too lazy to take the dog for her walks -- I would say that only gaining 0.4lbs is pretty darn good! ;) I feel that maybe my body is where it should be now and even though it would be really nice to see 16_lbs I am extremely comfortable in my size 8/9 (which I still find hard to believe) :O I am just not ready to stress about those last 10lbs, I think I will worry about them after I have kids. For now I am very happy to be at a much healthier weight!

We are back too racing this weekend, it sure was nice to have a weekend off. I am ready to go back but I think that after the last race I am no longer willing to do anyone favors. I am not going to work Hot August Night (which is on a Wed and goes all night), I am not going to work the next bike drag (that they really want me to work at), and I am not going to change a day I have already booked off just so the other tower worker can have it off! I am doing this job as a hobby job and it is suppose to be part time, it's not suppose to feel like a full time job (which I feel that it has become) and if they don't like it I sure would like to see them find someone else that would do the job!

Well that's about all .... happy hump day! ;)

Last night we went out for dinner with the hubbies family from Germany, they sure are really nice people. Their English is actually really good and made it easy for us to communicate with them. Of course I was full of questions, which apparently I had already asked at the wedding but I couldn't remember cause I had too much wine! ;) I would love to go to Germany and see how they live, I always kinda pictured it like England where the houses were right beside the sidewalk and no one had front yards but by the way it sounds their property is more like ours with yards and gardens!? After dinner we went back to my in laws for a visit and we went in the hot tub for a little while. They are leaving today but we made sure to get their e-mail address so we can send pics and letters, thank goodness for the Internet! :)

I will be totally surprised if I do well with tomorrows weigh in, with the wedding, having a few drinks and going to for dinners I don't expect to do very well but I feel like I am more in a maintaining my weight then loosing weight stride. I think I need to find the happy medium too maintain but not loose/ gain weight!? I think it will be a little tough to find that happy point, today I brought some extra food for lunch so we will see how tomorrows weigh in goes!?

Weekend Review .....

The weekend was really nice, no races on Friday so it made the weekend feel extra long! It felt odd not having to work Friday night but it sure was nice to have it off!! ;) The hubby went downtown Friday night and I just stayed home and relaxed. Saturday was our cousin's wedding and I think the hottest day of the year! Boy was it hot, I would hate to be one of the guys on the bridal party and have to wear a three piece suit! The ceremony started at 1pm and was at a Catholic church so we figured it would be at least an hour long but the priest was awesome and kept it short (30min). There were so many kids at the wedding I was amazed! We had 3 hours in between the ceremony and reception so we headed back to my in-laws for lunch and a few drinks. The reception was at this tiny little community hall that had no air conditioning, which made it a little uncomfortable. The food was really good and I especially liked the homemade perogies and cabbage rolls that my hubbies uncle made! :) I found that the speeches were quite long, lasting an hour and a half! The dance didn't start until 9pm! It seemed like after speeches were done everyone headed outside where there was a slight breeze and thankfully the DJ followed and set up speakers outside! We danced outside till 11:30 and then were forced to bring the party back inside but by now the hall had cooled down and was comfortable! I clearly drank too much wine and was feeling really good by the time we left (about 12:30am - I think?). It was a really good night and the bride looked awesome, I loved her dress!

The next day (even with me sleeping in) I wasn't feeling that great but it wasn't too bad of a hangover! ;) We were extremely lazy on Sunday and didn't get anything done, work wise. My Dad came over after lunch for a visit and brought my nephew with him. My nephew and hubby played around in the kiddie pool we have set up for the dog, it was cute! Then I downloaded a few pics from the weekend and went to bed early! I'm still feeling tired today and will probably go to bed early again! ;)

For those of you that are superstitious (like me) .... it is Friday the 13th! :o I don't think I am that bad but I do notice when black cats cross my path or if there is a ladder on my path I will go around and not under, little things like that! And if anything bad did happen today I would blame it on being Friday the 13th~.

Last night I went out for coffee with an old friend that I reconnected with on Facebook. We went to elementary school together and then she moved away and I guess we just grew apart in junior high?! We both were trying to remember what happened and why we had stopped talking? I think the best part of the story is that I introduced her too her now present hubby (who she has been with since 1992ish - when I introduced them) and they now have two boys and seem to be living a pretty good life! Whoda thunk it!? LOL We had a really good talk, caught up on all the old friends we used to have and each other's family. Next step is to introduce the hubbies to each other, we were thinking of having a BBQ!? ;)

We have a wedding to go to tomorrow and it is suppose to be really hot! Hubby and I are planning on going shopping tonight for new outfits. He wants to get a pair of dress pants (which totally surprises me - usually he considers black jeans as dressing up) and I need a new dress/ outfit. I'm not sure what I want yet, I'm thinking of just getting a skirt and nice top but maybe something else will jump out at me!?

Not too much else new in my life, I'm so glad to have a weekend off! No race track at all - not even tonight! I am hoping that I can find time this weekend to scan more pics and post them on Facebook, OH and I want to take a pic of me all dressed up for the wedding and post it here. I am down 13lbs since the last pic and I think you can really see a difference now! :)

Not too shabby, I'm OK with this loss, I guess eating raw/ cold hot dogs for lunch and supper three days in a row wasn't too bad after all! ? :P I'm starting to feel that maybe I will see a 16_ # !? I think I am going to delay my NS order again, I bought a bunch of food off of Jordanna so my cupboards are one again full and I don't really need any more NS food yet. Plus if I delay my order a few weeks I may be able to get too goal and get all my bears!! YAH ! ;)

So the last time I was at Costco I picked up a book to read, now I'm not much of a reader and the last book I read was The Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy, which by the way was an awesome book and I highly recommend it (even if your not pregnant - like me) ;) Anyway, so I saw they had all the Harry Potter books there and I have always heard good reviews about these books. But I have never read any of the books, I've just seen the movies, so I thought I would give them a try and I bought book one. I must say it is quite good, easy to read and follow. I'm excited to finish it and get the rest of the collection. I am also VERY excited to see the new Harry Potter movie that is coming out today! Anyone else excited to see the movie too!? :)

So after going to bed at about 8:30 last night I do feel quite a bit better today, not 100%, but better. It will definitely be another early night tonight. I can't wait to get back into my routine, I don't think I have taken the dog for a walk in a week!

Looks like we will probably be going to court soon! I don't know much about lawyer/ house buying hoopla but I will try to give you a little history first .....

So in Sept of 2005 we bought our first house and the previous owner did not get an RPR (Real Property Report) before listing it, our lawyer said he didn't need one but we wanted one (just in case). This report lets you know if any of your property is over property lines or not where it should be. Well our lawyer was able to get us the house without this report but then about 2 weeks after being in the house Epcor came by to do a survey of the property only to tell us that the shed that is attached to the back of our garage is on their Utility Right of Way (or something like that) and needs to be moved. This wouldn't be an issue IF the shed wasn't attached to the garage. Epcor also told us that the garage eaves is hanging over the right of way as well and we may need to move the garage. Well our garage is quite large, I don't think we would be able to move it without causing damage to it! ?

So anyway -- long story short, it is now 2007 (almost 2 years later) and our "shed" issue is still not settled. Yesterday we got a letter in the mail that pretty much says they were not able to get any type of encroachment for the shed OR the garage eaves and that the other lawyer was willing to give us the $1000 that he withheld from the sale of the house two years ago. Well $1000 won't even buy us a new shed never mind re-side the garage (where the shed was) or pay for dump fees. Never mind the issue on the garage now!

I hated house shopping and don't think I ever want to go through this again, but IF we ever do, I don't want to have to deal with this shed and garage issue then. So we need to deal with it now so we aren't the ones that pay for it later. I feel that the previous home owner is responsible for anything that did not comply because she never got the RPR in the first place and signed the papers saying that everything was where it should be. So now we are on the hunt for a good lawyer cause the one we were using for the sale of the house (recommended by our real estate agent - friend of the family) SUCKS! I refuse to use him any longer then we have too and don't feel that he would do a very good job at getting us what we want anyway! ?

Worst case scenario would be that we have to tare the garage down and rebuild a new one. I know it's kinda weird but one of the main reasons we bought the house was for the garage (I know for a fact that was the ONLY reason why my hubby wanted the house) so IF we have to rebuild I don't believe that we will be able to rebuild the same garage we have now (it would have to be smaller) and that would be no good! Not only would we loose equity on the house but my hubby would be very upset about that! The shed is kinda a minor thing compared to the garage issue except for the fact that it would cost us money out of our own pocket to re-side the garage ($1800). The thing that pisses me off the most is that the previous home owner is denying the fact that the shed IS attached to the garage and she is recommending that we use the door from the shed to fill in the hole that goes into the shed from the garage (but there is n door - cause the shed is attached to the garage, you have to go through the garage to get to the shed). If the shed was in fact NOT attached to the garage why would there be a door going into it from the garage!? We can easily prove that it is attached and we have already sent pics to our idiot lawyer that show how it is attached so it's not a big deal it's the principle of it that pisses me off, how can she deny it and act like we added this after the sale of the house!? Grrrr -- I hate house shopping !! I hope this doesn't drag on for another two years, I would really like to side the garage this year so it matches the house! ?

weekend review

So I am now wondering "WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING &*#^@!?" -- the weekend was a complete disaster, well maybe not a disaster but I am definitely feeling the effects of it today! I ended up getting off work early on Thursday and was quite excited to get out to the track and get started, so I went home, ate dinner, grabbed the dog and headed to the track. Well when I got out there my hubby was busy parking trailers (something he wasn't suppose to be doing) and I just walked around looking at all the cars (the first and only time I was able to walk around the pits). The original plan was that I was suppose to be the person that goes around, fills in for breaks, hands out bag lunches, water and do what ever else needs to be done. I just didn't want to be stuck doing the same position for the entire weekend (16 hours/ day). Boy was I fooled!

The track manager recommended that Friday morning I just go up to the tower and work till noon, then hand out bag lunches and start filling in for breaks. I thought this was a perfect idea cause then I get to do a little bit of tower work but not all day. Well when I got in the tower they inform me that if I choose to start doing tower now (Friday morning), I will be doing it all day and everyday! No switching off, no breaks, no changing - I will be stuck there for 16 hours everyday! So I suppose the good news is that they kinda gave me the option to do it or not, but if I choose not to do the tower then that meant that one of their people had to do it and I thought that it was probably better for me to do it!? So I did agree and commit myself to the entire weekend of sitting in the tower, so it's partially my own fault but I still feel as if they tricked me. I was especially ticked off when the track manager came up to me, after I had agreed to commit myself to the tower all weekend, and snickered as she passed me so I asked what was so funny and she said - "oh, you thought you could just come out here and slack off, do nothing and putz around all day. But not anymore, now you have to work." Then the other tower lady that was suppose to switch off with me says "yeah, I get to slack off now" !! I was shocked :o I felt like it was their plan the whole time, tell me that I can do the job I want and then trick me so that I get stuck doing the job that no one wants. I have to say that I didn't agree to commit myself to the tower job for them, it was definitely for the racers! And I'm hoping that I did a good enough job that everyone was happy, but next year ...... is a completely different story! I will definitely NOT be taking time off my real job to go out there and get abused! I had a radio in the tower that had this head piece you wear around you ears (it had arms like a pair of glasses you hook around you ears) anyway my ears are so sore today, I swear I have blisters behind them! Every time I answer the phone it hurts!

For the most part the weekend went fairly good, no big incidences, Friday was

the best day for staying on schedule. Saturday was a little worse, with cars breaking and having to do clean up it delayed the program a little but not as bad as last night. Last night was horrible, not only did we have cars breaking - which makes for a delay too clean it up, but it rained and it rained ALOT! We had a 2 hour delay because of the rain -- good news is that we were able to finish off the "fast/ show" cars before the rain but the bad news is that the program had to be finished! So at 10:30pm we were ready to race again! We didn't finish last night till 1:00am and after I packed up the trailer and drove home it was 2:00 in the morning!!! :O I think I was the only one that did not book today off, so after 4 1/2 hours of sleep I am at work and boy am I ever tired!!!

So I don't think they can plan on having me back there to work a National event ever again! I didn't even have enough time to run back to the trailer and warm up hot dogs, I had to eat them raw/ cold!!! We brought burgers out with us for dinner but never had time to cook them so Fat Free hot dogs was my lunch AND dinner!! I'm so sick of hot dogs and don't think I'll ever eat another raw/ cold wiener EVER! :P I didn't get to drink half the water I should have because I was worried I would take too many pee breaks. I feel hung over today maybe it's the lack of sleep or maybe I'm dehydrated, what ever it is I feel like crap! :( Early to bed tonight!

I am quite happy with this weeks weigh in, not only was I able to loose the 1.4lbs I gained last week but I also lost 0.6 more ounces! And those ounces add up! ;) I believe that Canada Day helped me loose my weight, I was home all day by myself and it was so nice out that I took the dog for her walk early and then after supper we walked to the field that the fireworks were going off at so by the end of the day I had logged 13,316 steps!! That's the most steps I have ever done!! I had more "aerobic" steps then I normally have for the entire day! I have also upped my water intake by what feels like a ton! I really enjoy Crystal Light and have been buying the ones too make pitchers of juice and usually drink one of those a day plus about a litre at work! My scale this morning said my bf% was 29.7%, which I think is still a little high considering my BMI is 26.8 but I have not been doing any type of muscle building activity and probably should have. I only have 11lbs to go till I'm at goal, I still can't believe that I am the weight I am or the size I am!? I know it sounds funny and you probably don't really believe me but I still have that "fat" mentality, I honestly can't see the change? I still look at the plus models in flyer's to see what looks nice and I still look for sales at Addition Elle!? I think I need to take pics again, I'm down another 12lbs since the last time I took pics so maybe it will make me see the difference?

Weekend review

Hopefully everyone had a good weekend, I know I had a fairly good and very nice long weekend! ;) Canada Day was great, our community puts on a firework show that we usually go to just cause it's so close to home and we can walk there. There are less people that attend this show then the one downtown which is something both me and hubby like! Neither one of us is a crowd person.

I finished all my painting that I wanted to get done and almost ran out of paint. The garage doors look 100 times better being white and the fence looks almost new again! Now if only our lawyer would hurry up and settle the shed issue we could side our garage and have it match the house! I weeded my garden and got a grocery bag full of weeds!! But it looks good now! I also got most of my cleaning done and only have the floors left to wash.

The hubby did end up working out at the track all weekend and I guess there was very little excitement. The only thing he told me was that the lady they had doing my job was horrible! She spend more time gabbing then she did working which caused lots of mistakes. Apparently I'm not allowed to have anymore days off! he he It kinda makes me feel good that this other lady messed up so bad but then I feel a little guilty cause it made the track look bad, like they hired this idiot that doesn't know what she is doing!? I guess the drag manager was apologizing to all the bikers saying that this lady wasn't the usual tower person and that she had to give me a day off! I feel more like an asset now, maybe next year I can get a raise! ;)

I had a near death experience on Friday!! No kidding!! I have never been more scared then I was at that moment! Friday after work I headed to the track for

the Street Legal races and being the Friday of a long weekend the traffic was a little more congested then usual. In order to get to the track you have to turn left off the highway which sometimes requires you to stop on the highway until it is clear to turn. Well, this is what happened on Friday, I had to stop on the highway ... wait for on coming traffic to clear ... so I could turn onto the facility. Well as I'm sitting there waiting I glance in my rear view mirror and see this truck behind me that is not slowing down, he's not stopping!!! So I pumped my brakes in hopes that maybe he sees my lights flashing but he still seems to be traveling way too fast! I inch my way onto on coming traffic (crossing the center line) and at last minute this idiot swerves around me!! I swear I felt my car rock back and forth as he passed me!! I almost peed my pants! I guess I looked as white as a ghost when I pulled up! I was so scared, It just keeps playing over in my head. I hate that feeling, thankfully the guy went around me but It was close! soooo scary!

TGIF -- And a long weekend to boot!! ;) It is Canada Day this weekend which means day off on Monday for most of us! It also means there will be a big firework display on Sunday! The city puts on a couple big shows, the main one is downtown and then the various divisions in the city sometimes put on their own show. We used to go downtown all the time but it is soooo busy and crazy down there that we now go to our community party, they put on a pretty good show for being a smaller part of the city but it's less busy and we can walk to the field from our house.

Tonight we have the Street Legal races at the track and then I'm off all weekend, I think the hubby will end up working the bike drags but I booked them off! Instead I plan on painting the garage doors, fence and maybe the picnic table! I would also like to bake some cookies and clean the house a bit, maybe re-arrange the furniture in the living room! Oh - and I was hoping on getting out to my Dad's house to look a little harder for my scrapbooks that are still MIA!!

Hopefully it turns out to be a nice weekend, the weather people say it should be but the traveling carnival has set up by our house and it always rains when they are here! ;) Well I think that's about all I have to write about today!!? Hopefully everyone has a good weekend!! :)

Secondly as most of you know it is Wednesday and Wednesday means weigh in day, and as you also know my week has not been the best. Today the scale showed exactly what I thought it would, I guess I can't be too discouraged by it, it was only expected and you still gotta live right!? ;) So with that being said .....

Week 44 = 173.2lbs

I am a little upset but not because I gained, it just makes me a little mad that it is seems so hard to get 1lb off and yet one bad day can put on double what you lost!! :( I think I'm going to get rid of my mini-challenge ticker, I am finding it more discouraging then motivating. And although I am not going to focus too much on loosing those last 10lbs, not right now anyway, I still like too see my ticker move (preferably down) !! ;)

Boy am I ever cranky today! I blame my computer at work, it pisses me off! Sometimes when I type the letters don't show up and it is super slow!! My Norton has expired and I'm sure that is part of the reason why it is acting so slow! My head hurts ..... I can't wait till the day is over and I can go home! One of the guys here is on holidays now so it's just me and the boss which is fine, it's not like this guy did all that much "work" anyway! I think it is time for him to retire but who am I to tell him when he needs to stop working! ?

Well the hubbies parents are coming over today after supper so I need to stop at the grocery store and pick up a small cake. Hopefully the house is clean enough, hubby vacuumed yesterday so it should OK? I can't wait for the long weekend to get here! I have plans to catch up on all the cleaning that has been missed, I want to paint the garage doors and fence behind the garage, and hopefully we can start the renovations on the basement. Oh and I have some good news .... I think our dog is feeling better!? She barely coughed at all yesterday and she is acting more like her old self!! Hopefully that means she is getting better ?! :)

Nutrisystem changed their website, I'm not sure if like it?! All my information has changed?! It's like they put all my old info on it from March and changed my goal to 170? Supposedly they are getting around to fixing every one's profile but who knows when!? They also don't have their "50 clicks - $10 coupon" working and I was so close to getting one! Hopefully they will bring it back, even though this is my last order. I asked one of their customer service ladies that since this is my last order and I'm not quite at my goal yet if I would have to order another whole order just to get my goal bear!? She told me that if I am close enough to goal that I should just fib on my numbers or get a hold of her and she will make sure I get my bears! he he I do like how you can "add friends" to your profile, and I like the new look but you would think they would have waited till the program was finalized before bringing it out?

It's my hubbies birthday tomorrow (31) and I haven't planned anything for him!!! :( I suppose I should at least get him a cake!? I haven't even gotten him a gift but I think we are getting too old for that?! I told him he could get his tube bender so that will be his gift I guess? Maybe we will go for dinner this weekend to his favorite restaurant ... Red Lobster!? ;)

I don't expect any loss for tomorrow, I blame it on all the drinking I did on the weekend?! And I' not talking about drinking water!? he he They were high sugar and probably high calorie but they tasted good and I enjoyed them!! ;) I will be happy if I end up weighing in at the same as I did last week! I've been pounding back the water yesterday and today so we will see if maybe that helps but the salesman here is suppose to be buying us lunch today, donairs!!! YUM!! I haven't had one of those forever and I keep thinking that I will only eat half but I'm afraid it might taste too good to stop!! ;) Oh well!

weekend review

Well it was a pretty exciting weekend, Friday's street legal races were cancelled due to rain so instead we went over to the hubbies Grandma's house for cake. I was talking to my MIL and mentioned how I already made "my salad" but apparently there was a little confusion cause she had also made the same salad!! :( So after our visit we stopped at the grocery store and picked up some veggies so I could make a different salad. That night I stayed at home making the second salad and hubby went downtown. I had to work Saturday, which was extremely boring but at least I got my desk all cleaned! ;) It looks really good now, my keyboard almost looks brand new! ;) After work we headed over to the in-laws for the birthday party! The weather co-operated so everyone sat outside, my MIL put on a good meal (turkey, ham, potatoes, tons of salads, and fruit/ veggie trays!) She also made these slushy drinks that were melon flavored and tasted really good, so I had a few! ;) and then she made some pina coladas which were also really good, so I had a few of them too! Good thing there was lots of food to eat cause those drinks were starting to hit me pretty hard!! So needless to say I think I over did it on Sat, with all the drinks I had and the extra servings of cheese and crackers, it was well worth it and I had a lot of fun but now I have 3 days to be 100% and get back on track!! ;) We ended up staying way later then we had planned but had a good visit with all of the hubbies uncles and even threw one of them in the hot tub!

We had to get up early Sunday to get to the track, apparently the day before (Sat) was a nightmare and they never stopped racing till 8:30pm!!! AND they never even finished any of the rounds! Sunday wasn't much better, the

ambulance got called into the pits twice (due too injuries), one guy was on his quad and they figure his tow strap got tangled in the axle making the quad come to a fast stop and the guy fell off breaking BOTH his legs!! Then there was another guy in the pits that thought he would try to tune his kids car by sticking his leg threw the window to step on the gas and the car fell off the stands making the car jolt forward almost snapping his knee cap off but instead only dislocated it!! So we were forced to wait for the ambulance to attend to these guys and wait for another ambulance to come get the injured guys! It was a long night, not quite as bad as Sat I guess, we never finished racing till 7:15pm! I'm going to have to start bringing suppers on Sunday if this keeps up, I was awfully hungry by the time we got home! After I finished supper I scanned a few pics to post on Facebook!! I can't wait to play around with them today! :)

Rain, rain, go away ......

It seems like we have had nothing but rain for the past week!? Storm warnings and tornado warnings seem to be quite common now a days! We are suppose to be at the race track tonight for street legals but I'm thinking they are going to cancel them due to all the wet stuff falling out of the sky! ? Last night after I took my dog for her walk I was looking at my flowers and I was surprised to see that even with all this rain we have gotten they look like they might be drying out and dying? Maybe they need more sun? Maybe I planted then in the wrong spot in my flower beds? Who knows!? I think next year I will just stick too petunias they are way easier! ;) Oh, and speaking of my dog ... she seems to be doing much better, we have now had two nights in a row that we were not woken up by her coughing! Either she isn't coughing as much at night or I'm just so tried from lake of sleep that I just don't hear her anymore! ? ;)

Tomorrow we have a 75th birthday party to attend, hubbies Grandma. My in-laws are putting on a BBQ in their backyard and I'm in charge of bringing my salad! Hopefully the weather is nice for it. I was also invited to the hubbies cousins wedding shower that is going on tomorrow as well but unfortunately I can not attend. After the BBQ we were thinking of heading to the track and visiting with friends maybe have a few drinks with them! :0 I think it all depends on the weather though!? Here is 'my salad' recipe:

Sunflower Salad (a.k.a.-Leanne's salad)

1 head of cabbage - shredded thin

1/2C. chopped green onion

1/2C. chopped celery

3 pkgs "Mr.Noodle" (chicken flavor) - crumbled

--------- reserve 1 1/2 pkgs for later -------------

**** MIX ALL TOGETHER ****

** DRESSING **

1C. oil (I only use about 3/4C)

4 Tbsp Sugar (I use Splenda)

1 tsp. salt

3/4 tsp. pepper

3 pkgs chicken base (came with "Mr.Noodle" pkgs)

I still have not found my scrapbooks that I have been searching for and I am now almost certain that they must be at my Dads! It's either that or I loaned them to someone and forgot to get them back!? I did how ever find my "Treasure Album - School Days" book! It has all my school pics in it and class pics, I plan on scanning them and posting them on the school groups on Facebook. I was flipping through the book last night and was slightly surprised at how much of a pack rat I was as a kid, I have letters from friends and copies of my poor attendance record. I thought those books were to keep things that were accomplishments!? he he

Week 43 = 171.8lbs

For not thinking that I would loose anything at all or perhaps even gain - I'm quite happy with this loss! AND it's just enough to get me my 80lb bear!!

This is one of my favorite bears not just because it means I'm so close to goal but because it is different then any of the other bears (color wise). I find all the other bears to be shades of blue and red but this one is bright orange!! :) The next bear (90lb) is even better it's black! Hopefully I will be able to get that one too!

So last night I did end up going to the Jobbie meeting and I drug Denise with me! I mostly went to find/ pick up my scrapbooks but it was also nice to be back at a meeting. Not much has changed since the last time I was there, they are still struggling for members (they only have 8), and they still struggled with the memory work. I only knew about four people there and they were all adults, it kinda made me feel a little old! ;) I was surprised to see that my scrapbooks were no where too be found!! So now I am raking my brain trying to remember where the last place I had them was? I'm probably going to tare my house apart to find them now! And if I can't find them at my house I will move on to my Dads and tare his house apart! ;) It really bothers me that I can't find them! My hubby thinks that maybe they threw them away but I can not even fathom that they would do that! Who throws pictures away! ? However we did find about 8 scrapbooks that belong to one of the "moms" so we asked if we could borrow them, they are all from our era. I can't wait to go through them and find good pics too scan and put on Facebook! LOL

It was another long night last night, my dog kept waking us up coughing! I feel so sorry for her, sometimes she coughs so hard that I'm worried she will give herself a hernia! She seemed to be getting better yesterday but then last night and this morning she seemed to have a lot of flem again?! I sure hope she gets better soon!? I may have to take her to her vet in St.Albert to get looked at, we just took her to the one close to home but I don't really like them too much!?

The vet figures our dog has Kennel cough!?!? But is unsure because she doesn't have any other symptoms of it!? We have never put our dog in a kennel or doggie day care? They say it is just an air born disease that dogs get from other dogs that is highly contagious and they usually get it when they are in a kennel, hence the name of the virus. But since our dog basically stays at home all the time and only gets out for her walks (which aren't at off leash areas, so there is little contact with other dogs) and the only dogs she is really around are the neighbor dogs but they haven't been coughing ...yet! ? The only other place she has been around lately is at the race track where there was one encounter with another dog that almost ended up as a fight and I had to break it up, and the in-laws had her for a weekend and there neighbor has a dog!? These are the only two places that I can think of where she could have gotten the virus from!? So now we have doggie cough drops (they are actually pills but help with the cough) and some antibiotics (just in case). She was a bit better yesterday and only woke us up twice, once at midnight so we gave her some "cough drops" and she was good till this morning. I read on the internet that sometimes it helps them if you put a humidifier by them to help them breathe better, so we did! LOL

On the diet front, I'm a little worried about weigh in tomorrow. I haven't been as good as I should have been, I missed out on taking the dog for her walk three times!! I have found that I feel extra hungry and might have snuck a few "bad" snacks in! ;) I was going to sneak a peak this morning on the scale but decided not too, I will wait and see tomorrow but I will be surprised if I loose anything!

I'm also a little angry with myself, when I was younger I used to be in a youth group (IOJD) and we made scrapbooks. Well lately I have had the desire to go through them and reflect on the past, maybe scan some old pics and post on Facebook BUT I can not find them anywhere! I think I let the Bethel keep them to look over or bring out when they had Installations and such, what an idiot I was! What the heck was I thinking!?! Those are my pictures and memories, I want them back!! So now I need to find out when there next meeting is, I'm pretty sure that there is only one meeting left till summer holidays so I better find out soon or I'll be waiting till Sept.!! I bet it's tonight!! I seem to remember that it was the 1st and 3rd Tuesday! Sh*t! I may have to go tonight and hopefully they still have my books! ;)

Weekend

Well, for wanting a relaxing weekend it turned out to be quite busy! It never did rain on Friday like the forecast predicted so off to the race track we went! Although there wasn't very many cars that showed up so that made it an early night of racing. We decided to go out with everyone after the races were over for something to eat and ended up staying out till 2:30am !! It has been a really long time since I've been out that late but it was totally worth it and we had a good visit with friends we haven't been out with in a long time!

Luckily we were able to sleep in on Saturday but since we didn't go to bed early we never gained any sleep out of sleeping in!? Saturday was busy, I cleaned the house in the morning and then went to get my hair cut and do some shopping. I'm so excited about shopping now, I loved it! I never used to like shopping, it was just something that you had to do - like go to the dentist. It used to be quite painful for me to go shopping, everything fit funny and hated the way it looked. Well after Saturday I told my hubby that he needs to put me on a budget for shopping cause holy cow I never knew shopping for clothes could be that much fun! Everything fit really good and I actually looked in the mirror and liked what I saw! I ended up buying two pairs of jeans, a pair of capri's and three tops. AND guess what size I bought! ?!? Yup .... size 9 !! They are a little tight and I probably would have got the 11 if I wasn't still loosing weight but I think these will fit perfect in a few weeks! After supper we went over to my moms for a visit, she had a bunch of tops that were too small for her and she thought they would fit me. Which they did so now I have lots of summer clothes, now all I need is the sun to come out so I can wear them!! After visiting mom we heading downtown, where we used to go every weekend to see friends. There were a few people out so we had a good visit and once again never got home till 3:00am!!

We were planning on going to the Grandparents for a visit on Sunday but since we got home so late we slept in and missed going to the one grandparent. We gave the FIL his Father's Day's/ early birthday gift and had a good visit with them and then headed home for a quick bite before

we went to my brothers. When we got home our dog was coughing really bad and we were a little worried about it but figured she would be OK and left to go to St.Albert. How ever when we got home from the BBQ there was a mess in the house! My poor puppy was still coughing really bad and coughed up a bunch of flem!? We put her outside while we cleaned up and kept an eye on her. I thought that maybe the cough would go away after she got what ever it was bugging her out but I don't think she ever did. It seemed like every three hours she would start coughing so we would wake up with her and try too comfort her while she was coughing. It almost sounds like she has bronchitis, her coughs sound really flemmy and I'm worried that she is going to give herself a hernia from coughing so hard! ? The hubby is taking her to the vet today to see what's wrong, hopefully it's nothing serious! I can now appreciate new mothers who have to get up every three hours to feed the baby, I sure could us a nap and it's only 9:30!

So as long as it doesn't rain this afternoon we will be going to the race track tonight for Street Legals. However this will be the only time we go to the race track this weekend! :) I'm totally looking forward to sleeping in on Sat. and Sun!! Although I don't want to sleep the whole day away and I do have plans. I would like to catch up on some cleaning that has been missed over the past few weeks, like washing the sheets, washing windows and cleaning floors. Plus I would also like to get a hair cut, I feel like Mr.Mugs, I hate when my hair is in my face - I desperately need my bangs cut! I would also like to do a little shopping on Sat. for new pants and a few summer tops. I received my cheque from the insurance company the other day and the hubby says I get to spend $500 of it!! WOW - I don't think I will, I'm much too cheap to spend that much money on myself! I will probably only spend $200 and put the rest towards bills!?!

On Sunday we plan on going visiting, cause we haven't done it for a really long time, and stopping at the in-laws after to give the FIL his Father's Day gift. Then we are headed to my brothers for a BBQ for my Dad, I need to bring "my salad" so I will be making that on Sat. night. I'm excited to go see my brother, not that I'm excited to see him but more that I'm excited to see the kids! I wish we lived closer and I could visit them more often!

I'm sooooo grouchy lately! Especially at work, I'm not sure why but I feel like I need a break!? I just had holidays, everything here frustrates me, I feel like my boss is "baby sitting" me - always listening in to my phone calls with customers and doesn't let me try to find things on my own. He will automatically pop his head out of his office and answer my question or interrupt my conversation. And if a customer walks in he jumps out of his chair too see what they need, I feel like he doesn't think I can do the job!? I'm sure he only does it to be helpful but to be frank it annoys the hell out of me! I heard on the radio this morning that they are raising minimum wage again to $8 which also boils my blood! WTF ?? When do I get a raise? I did just get a raise but it was so pathetic they may as well not even bothered!? I think I would be better off to quit and get re-hired, I would probably end up making more !? A lot of people are quiting and not because the company sucks but only because they need to go where the money's at. I work for a smaller company that honestly can't compete with the larger companies or dealerships when it comes to wages. However because this company is so much smaller they treat you as a member of their family and not just a number, like larger companies tend to do. So it's kinda a toss up .... smaller company = smaller wage but you get treated like a family member OR larger company = larger wage but upper management doesn't even know your name!? Maybe I'll feel better after a weekend off! ? Or at least you can hope !! ;)

I thought I had sabotaged my weigh in! Yesterday the hubby wanted Chinese for supper so of course I had to have some too! ;) I totally wasn't expecting to see a loss on the scale this morning never mind a -2lb loss!! My pants are definitely getting too big now and I either need to get a belt and wear pants with a saggy bum or suck it up and just buy pants that fit! ? I am also happy that finally after 2 weeks of having a mini-challenge I was able to move my ticker! And I only need too loose another 0.6lbs in order to get my 80lb bear!

As I mentioned yesterday, after supper and taking the dog for her walk, we did pull out our old yearbooks and flipped through them. I think I almost got my hubby hooked on Facebook too!? ;) He was typing in names of people he used to know and I think he found a few of them, it was exciting. It sure brought back the memories, flipping through the yearbooks! My hubby has yearbooks from junior high ? I only have high school books - I didn't even know they made junior high yearbooks!? I plan on going to my Dad's this weekend for Father's Day and while I'm there I plan on picking up all my old scrapbooks and flipping through them too!

I'm quite excited that there is no racing this weekend, except Friday night street legals. Maybe now I will have time to catch up on all the house cleaning I have not been on top of. Although the hubby has been really good about helping around the house and he usually vacuums on Monday and he empties the dish washer/ sink every time it needs to be emptied. But it's all the small detail cleaning that I haven't been doing like window washing, dusting those places that don't get dusted very often, stuff like that!? I am also looking forward to sleeping in !! ;)

With my recent addiction too Facebook it has made me want to go through all my old yearbooks and reflex on the past. I am thinking about all my old friends that I haven't seen or talked too in years. I want too scan pics from old albums and yearbooks so I can "tag" friends.

I'm hoping to see a good number on the scale tomorrow, I have noticed that my pants are feeling a little looser and I will soon be needing to wear a belt again. Maybe I was just loosing inches for the past two weeks? I haven't even snuck a peak in this week, where I did last week and the week before. I have noticed that my NS meals seem to be going quicker this month then previous months. I think it's because it is easier to prepare them for the weekends at the track then too try and pre-cook meals!? I also don't really like the idea of certain food sitting in the cooler all weekend and just feel better eating a lunch bar rather then making tuna salad that needs to sit in the cooler all weekend!? We also don't have a microwave at the track either so I can't heat up a quick bowl of soup and the NS "just add water" meals seem to work good. I have also been eating more salad as my veggie serving, cause it is easier to pre-prepare.

So cross your fingers in the hopes that maybe tomorrow I will at least loose a 1/2 lb?!! ? I really want my 80lb bear!

From bad to worse .....

What a long, busy, and eventful weekend! Of course it was a race weekend so it is all race related - Friday was pretty typical, all the street cars were hot lapping the track and nothing too exciting happened.

Saturday was our big Fox Hunt drag race where they try to encourage women to come out to the track so they get in for half price. This day was full of "exhibition cars" and was packed full of racing. Everything was ticking along great, on time and no down time (a very rare thing). Until 5:00 when it started pouring rain!! The opening ceremonies were suppose to start at 6:15 but unfortunately after we finished cleaning the track it was already 7:00 and the show must go on! While we were waiting for the rain to stop and track to dry there was an incident in the pits, one of the very experienced crew members from a show car team got his hand caught in a blower belt and almost ripped his hand off! Thankfully we always have a ambulance at the track and they were quick too asses his injury. We found out the next day that he did in fact loose three fingers but they were able to save his pinkie and thumb! It's amazing at how fast someones life can change like that!

After that it seemed like the day just got worse, we had a couple cars hit the wall and one of them rolled!! Then a couple cars oiled the track, which created "down time" while we cleaned up the mess. Needless to say we had to cut the show short and didn't finish any of the eliminations! Half way through the night we had the jet cars come out to do their show, thankfully one of the guys on the starting line noticed that one of them was leaking jet fuel all over the track and they rushed in front of him to shut him down! If they had not noticed that-- there would have been a huge ball of fire at the starting line and all of them would have been engulfed in flames!!! It was a very scary weekend, full of lots of close calls! It started to rain again at 11:30pm so we called the show and shut down for the night. Sunday was pretty much the same, lots of cars breaking making the race last forever! Plus we had to finish off all the eliminations from the night before. We didn't finish Sunday until 7:00 and we never even finished doing the "King of the Hill" eliminations!! I'm so tired today, I did NOT want to wake up this morning! Thankfully I get the next three Saturday's off!! :)

Gravity Storm and Nighthawk jet cars

This is a little taste of what will be racing tomorrow at the race track!

You can't even imagine how loud these jet cars are! It sounds like a gun firing and as they make that popping sound you can literally feel it in your chest!

It feels like you are being shot with a gun! I don't really like these cars but alot of people do! They scare the crap out of me! The first time I watched them race they scared me so much that I hid behind the ambulance and pressed my ear muffs as close as I could to my ears and it was still really loud!! OH - and the mirror melted off the ambulance I was standing behind... yeah - it's hot too!

Well I finally had time to go shopping and buy some plants! I also found a little time to plant them too! ;)

I ended up going to Home Depot, they had quite a few that looked like they were in pretty good shape. I bought some blue and white Pansy's, white Snapdragons and some blue Lobelia. All of these flowers are new to me, meaning I have never tried growing them before, but apparently they say that Pansy's are a good flower for kids to grow because they are so easy to take care of!? Hopefully I don't kill mine off! :)

I also have some plants that my MIL gave me last year, they are perennials and should come back every year. There are some tiny little red ones called Sweet Williams and some blue and white flowers that I can't remember what they are called but they kinda look like the ones in these pics!? So I guess my garden this year will be red, white and blue! LOL Last year I had way too much pink, I'm not a big pink fan and it looked funny with my orange Marigolds. I tried to do a little more planning this year but I still think I'm not that great when it coes to planning a flower bed! It will come, in due time! Someday I'll be a pro! ;)

Almost the end of another week!

My mom gets home today from her trip to Vegas!! I was watching the weather on the news and it sure was hot down there! I think yesterday it was 38C! Mom probably wasn't liking that too much and more then likely stayed inside and played the slots!?! Today it looks like it shouldn't be as hot there, only 28C but still much hotter then my mom would like! ;) I guess I'll find out tomorrow if she won the "big one"!? Someday I will experience Vegas, some NS members are planning a trip to Vegas in October and have asked if I want to go but I don't think it is in the budget this year!? I would like to wait till we can afford to drive down, see the sites, maybe go check out the Grand Canyon then on the way back come up the coast and stop at Disneyland. I mentioned to the hubby about how it would be neat to walk the strip and he agreed mentioning something about how he would like to bring the car down so he could go down the strip!? Well I was talking about "the strip" with all the hotels and he was talking about the drag strip! ? LOL Just goes to show how different our thoughts can sometimes be!

I found a 'friend' on

Facebook yesterday that I haven't talked to since grade school! I introduced her to her husband and it says on her profile that she now has two kids! I'm so happy for her and e-mailed her, I hope she writes back and hopefully she doesn't think I'm a Facebook stalker! ;) I'm telling you this Facebook thing is great! It's great to see people that you haven't seen in years and catch up on what's new. Sometimes it's odd to see that my friends have friends listed on their list that were definitely not their friend in school (different group) but now that they are older they are considered "friends"?! And I admit I have people on my "friend" list that I have never even met but we work for the same company so now all of a sudden we are "friends"!? Week 41 = 174.4lbs

I suppose this is what you call a plateau? I guess my body likes being 174? I'm OK with it, I would like to at least get my 80lb bear but I'm OK with the way I look now!? I really need to do some strength training to try and tighten my giggly tummy and arms?! ! ;) Although I haven't been that serious about loosing the weight lately so maybe it's just cause I haven't been doing my regular routine? I never took the dog for her walk last night (cause it was grocery shopping day) and we went out for dinner before we went shopping. I guess the good thing about being on a plateau is that you know you are on track, eating all the proper foods for maintenance, even though I'm not really on the maintenance plan yet!? Lately my thoughts have been:

#1-TTC

#2-money

#3-weight loss

I feel like none of these things are going in the direction that I want them too! I have been moody lately which I think is a direct result of #2 followed by the pressure from everyone about #1!! I sometimes wonder if we will ever have kids? I sometimes think we would be better off to just get a puppy!? I have been grouchy and jealous of the hubby not having a job and setting his own work hours and extremely worried about him not bringing in his share. So far things have been going good with him booking jobs but I'm worried about the collecting part! I worry about him keeping track of all the paperwork for the business and making sure that the jobs pay in full! I'm sure things will work out but I'm a natural worrier and if I didn't worry about this I would just find something else to worry about!! ?

I never did get to Rona last night (because of grocery shopping) I may have time tonight to go!? The hubbies cousin is coming over tonight to pick up some stuff and probably have a quick visit so it depends on how long they stay for.

On a brighter note I got a phone call last night from the lady I usually buy all my scrapbook supplies. A few months ago I went to her place to see all the new products and she had a bunch of draws, so I entered a few, well I guess I won one !! She said she lost all the winner slips and couldn't re-draw cause she threw away all the entry forms but the other day she found the winner slips!! So I need to go pick up my paper pack! The unfortunate thing is that she lives about an hour away from me and the only time I usually get to see her is when I go visit my dad or brother, guess I have to plan a visit soon! ;)

After dinner last night I went to Costco in search of some nice bedding plants. I was hoping to pick up some Pansy's this year but all Costco had were Begonia's! And they all looked like they were burnt from the sun and needed a good watering! Begonia's only grow good in the shade and my house face's south so my beds are in the sun all day! I had Begonias last year and planted them in my back yard and a few in the shade out front but I wasn't happy with them? They didn't seem to do very well and I didn't really like the way they looked. So I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and go to Rona or a garden center to get my bedding plants this year. I will probably have to go tonight though cause it is starting to get late in the season and if I don't get them now I may as well not get any at all! ?

While at Costco I picked up some ice cream bars made by Healthy Choice here is the nutritional info:

I'm a little sleepy today, it was a long weekend! We had a bike that went down on Friday night, he seemed OK but his bike was ruined! Saturday was pretty uneventful except for one of the cars broke his transmission and didn't know he did till he got to the end of the track so that was a hour and a half clean up!! And on Sunday one of the nitro funny cars blew his clutch up and had a small fire under his car! It's quite exciting out there and next weekend will be even more exciting! It is the "Fox Hunt" weekend and women get in for half price, there will also be about 20 exhibition cars so it should be a good race! We decided that this past weekend was too hot too take the dog to the track and leave her locked up in the trailer so we asked the in-laws to babysit! I'm glad they were able too cause she would have roasted in the trailer, it was 30C on Sunday!

I'm going to Costco tonight to get my bedding plants and a few other things. It is supposed to rain tomorrow so I figure today is a good day to get them in! I don't want to plant them too late or they will never get a chance to grow to their potential! ;)

Oh, on Friday night we also got new jackets from the track (Castrol Raceway jackets), they are really nice!! And guess what size I got?!? Small !!! :0 I was amazed!! It's probably vanity sizing or it's a men's small but it's still a small!! LOL I don't think I've ever owned anything in small before !

We were so busy at work yesterday I didn't even have time to write a little bit on my blog! I actually really like when we are that busy cause you get into a rhythm and the day flies by!! :) I also really enjoy my job, I could use a raise but I like it here. My boss is great at giving time off and lets us slack off a bit when we aren't busy but when we are busy you know you need to work! So yesterday because we were so busy and I think because I was working hard my boss let me leave 15 minutes early!! YAH! So on my way home I stopped to do a little shopping at Mark's Work Warehouse they had a sale on tank tops with built in bra's! I have never been able to wear spaghetti strap type tank tops before because my bra straps were always way too wide and it looked funny. And even though I have lost a fair amount of weight on my top I still am too "well endowed" to go bra less! he he So these tank's are perfect !! I love them, they only had two mediums left so I bought both and I also picked up a new pair of shorts (size 12) and a few other wide strap tanks that were on sale - 2 for $15!

I never had time last night to go shopping for bedding plants so I think I will do that on Monday. My FIL came over last night to do some work on his truck and after I took the dog for her walk I was busy getting things organized for our weekend at the track! It's quite the ordeal to make sure I have all my dairy, veggies and fruit plus have all the hubbies food! And last weekend he felt like having a banana so I was short a fruit, so this weekend I am bringing extra bananas! ;) After I think I got everything organized cleaned the bathroom, it was discusting and needed to be done!

Every Friday that we go to the track I have to pack a nap sack of all the food I am eating for the day! I feel like such a piggy! LOL I think one of the ladies at the track wants to try NS but hasn't really said anything yet!? I think she sees how much food I eat and how it seems like I'm always eating and she will say something like "I need to try a new diet, this one's not working for me". I hope she does try NS, I know it probably doesn't work for everyone and I believe that there is a diet for everyone out there, you just have to find one that works for you. I just know it worked for me and if/ when I ever need to loose weight again I know I will be using NS again! :)

My back has been killing me lately! I'm not sure why?! Maybe because I stand on cement all day at work or when I'm not standing I'm sitting on a very uncomfortable bar stool!? Anyway I have been taking Robax to help, which it does but it also makes me incredibly drowsy! I also don't really think it's a good idea to be taking it if there may be a chance that I am pg, so I can only take it when I know for sure I'm not and during my 2ww I need to suffer!? I know that one of the symptoms of pg is a sore back but I hope it's not like this! And if it is what can you take for it?

No change this week! Nothing lost, nothing gained! I suppose that's good news?! ;) I didn't expect any change anyway, with the past weigh in's being so big I actually thought I would be gaining this week? But even though there is no change on the scale I still feel like I've lost inches!? My pants that were once tight are now really loose and I think I may have to go shopping again soon for the next size smaller!!! Yeah!

Gotta go grocery shopping again tonight for 'staples', I think I may also stop in at Costco too see if their bedding plants look any better then last time!? I would go see Denise at Rona but she works at the store that's the furthest away and I'm not sure I have that much time tonight~! Plus the bedding plants at Costco are only $10 for the flat, we bought them last year and they did really good, and I'm sure the one's at Rona are going to cost more!?

Another busy day at work, which is really nice, the day goes by so fast! :)

I snuck a peak at the scale again this morning and I don't think that it will be a very good week (scale wise)!? I don't think I did anything different this week, maybe it's just cause I've been having good losses!? I'm OK with it, it's just the way the cookie crumbles! ;) I feel kinda blah today, you know where you don't really feel like doing much but you feel like you should be doing something? I should be excited because as most of you know it is almost that time of year where we will are going to TTC and hopefully it isn't going to be that complicated! I think I'm just tired, tired of work, tired of the same ole routine, tired of everything! I know it's a poor attitude but it's part of being female, I think, once a month we or at least I seem to be a little more sad about things?! Things tend to bother me a bit more then they did a few weeks ago, especially people, I get easily irritated! I think my hubby is learning this about me, since we are working out at the track on weekends my house cleaning routine now needs to be done during the week, and yesterday he took it upon himself to vacuum the house !! Without even being asked! :)

My mom told me yesterday that they are going to Vegas for four days!! I asked when "we" were leaving and she just laughed! So unless I can fit in her suitcase I guess I'm not going! :( They leave on Sunday, lucky buggers, it's really hot there right now so they will probably spend most of their time in the casino's where it is air conditioned! She also mentioned something about my birthday and going to Vegas, a girls only type holiday!!! ;) Sounds good to me but the prices go back up in Sept, the flight is fairly cheap right now because it is so hot there and people don't like it when it's too hot! I'll have to do some serious saving if I want to go in Sept, I've always wanted to go to Vegas but I always assumed my hubby would be coming with me too!? I think he would be a little jealous if he wasn't invited!

It was another busy weekend full of racing. Friday was pretty normal just a bunch of street legal racers hot lapping their car. Except for this crazy guy that was clearly off his meds! He came up to the tower to rent a helmet and almost lost it on us! I thought I was going to have to call security. He was all shaky and sweating like crazy even though it wasn't that hot out. I think he was angry cause we told him that in order to rent a helmet we needed $10 and his drivers license, but he was already in the staging lanes ready to race. Then he starts telling us how everyone keeps "picking on him", so we ask who is doing that? And he says "all the homosexuals and especially the females" !! I could not believe this guy just said that! I was thinking how does he know who is a homosexual? What and idiot!!! Then he starts slamming things down and saying how he just wants to race, he was nuts! Later on that night I guess he went to the liquor store and was walking around the facility with a case of beer and after the track manager told him to leave he called her a "fat b*tch" among other names and the RCMP were called!! It was quite exciting!

On Sat. for the first time ever I walked over 10,000 steps!! 10,198 to be exact!! I now have blisters on my feet so last night I took a nice hot bath and soaked them for a while. ;)

We are really busy at work today so I might have to cut this short! ;)

I brought my nap sack full of food today to work, all my meals packed into one little bag! ;) After work I am headed straight to the race track to work out there for the street legal planned for tonight and then Sat and Sun are regular bracket races! Last night we figured out our hours for the month and made an invoice, I was happy, it looks like we will average about $1000 a month from working out there! I think it's worth it, I get to paid to watch the races and camp with my family! ;)

I also finally got a letter yesterday from a accident I was in, Jan. 2006, they made me an offer! $2000.00, It's not as much as I thought it would be but I never really expected to get anything until the insurance lady came over and started talking to us about it! So I think I'm willing to take whatever offer they will give just to end this claim! All this extra money will sure help us build an nest egg and pay off some of our previous bills! Now if only our lawyer would get his act together and settle the "shed" issue on our house, it's almost been 2yrs! I'm hoping that we will be able to side the garage this summer so that it matches the house but we believe that the previous home owner should have to pay for some of it cause they never got a RPR when she listed the house (which you're suppose to - to make sure everything is where it should be). Her lawyer is also responsible for it too and since he never held enough money to cover the cost of replacing the shed it looks like he will be the one that ends up paying the difference! Anyway, I have called the law society and now it is in their hands which also means that there is a formal complaint against our lawyer so if anyone else calls to report something about him, he could be in big trouble! :o

Spring has sprung !

Well I think it is official even if it did snow yesterday! At work I have a large window that I can look out of all day and watch all the activity outside. Well, yesterday we had three jack rabbits chasing each other or more like two males fighting over the female! The males were doing some karate moves, jumping in the air trying to get the other one but the female out smarted them and got away, until a forth rabbit spotted her and then it was on again! It was funny too watch, it's my entertainment at work! LOL I have also seen quite a few robins now more then last year! So I'm ready to feel the summer heat and get my shorts and tank tops on! ;)

Thanks to the help of Denise's hubby we were able to get a little money for the Ford that my hubby wrote off months ago! We sold the engine and transmission in it to Denise's hubbies friend and though that since he got the sale we will give him a portion of the money! It's only fair and I'm so glad that part of this truck is going to be gone! Now we just have to get rid of the rest of it! ;) Tomorrow is also Denise's birthday, I think she is going to be 29? Maybe 28 ? I'm not too sure - but I do know she is younger then me! :(

It's hard to believe that it is almost the end of May already! The months go by faster and faster the older I get! We are already making plans for the August long slow-pitch tourney in Edson! Last night I was playing with our scanner and uploaded a bunch of old photos onto Facebook, the site is fun and very addictive! I also got all my grocery shopping done last night, I was feeling lazy so instead of buying a head of broccoli and cauliflower I just bought one of those pre-made veggie trays so I didn't have to cut anything up! You should have seen the size of the strawberries they had too!! Ginormous! So I picked up two containers.

Another big loss! At this point in my weight loss journey I consider any loss that is more then 1lb a big loss! If I have done my calculations right I believe that I have lost almost 31% of my old self! Not too shabby! ;) I only have another 14lbs to go before I'm at goal and it seems to be going by quite fast!? (knock on wood) It is hard for me to believe that I have been on NS for 9 months and that I have lost -77.6lbs! That is more then most 10 year old kids weigh!?

My last mini-challenge was suppose to be "Beat the Fat Kid - too loose 10lbs" but I think it should have been renamed cause Jordanna has been way too busy with other things in her life and isn't quite able to focus on weight loss right now! :) I need another mini-challenge (cause I like to see the ticker's move) and Denise has made a quite adventurous mini-challenge for herself that I don't think I would even come close to achieving! So maybe I will just mini-challenge myself !? I would like too cut what I have left too loose in half and try too achieve this by July long weekend, in lam ins terms this means that my next mini-challenge will be "Loose -7.1lbs by July 1st" I think this is achievable but still a challenge, I will have to loose 1.4lbs every week for the next 5 weeks in order to get this mini goal, which could be hard considering percentage wise I don't have as much too loose making it harder to loose!? If anyone else wants to join me in this challenge you are welcome to join me! ;)

I need to go grocery shopping tonight and pick up some "staples", we have another full weekend of racing this weekend so I need to organize my meals. I felt a little rushed last weekend at lunch time, it felt like we barely had enough time to get back to the trailer, let the dog out, and quickly cook up some hot dogs! I think this weekend I will just bring lunch bars with me and save the cooking for supper meals?! I also brought too many veggies last weekend and need to cut back on them but I was worried that I might be hungrier (is that a word?) and veggies are the best 'healthy' snack too grab when you have a case of the munchies! Maybe not the tastiest but if you are trying to loose weight it is better to reach for them then a cookie or some chips!?

Well, I'm back at work today :( Of course I'm going to say my holidays were too short cause that's what everyone says and it's true! I am totally looking forward to retirement and I'm about halfway there! LOL I suppose the good thing is that my job is fairly stress-free, the worst part of my job is sometimes finding enough things to make the day go by quicker !

Yesterday I was talking to the neighbor about gardening and it made me realize just how much of a dummy I am when it comes to gardening !! Everyone I would talk to would tell me that if you plant bulbs you should always plant odd numbers and I guess I never really understood what they meant. I'm more of a symmetrical person and find that I always need to have a match or pair of things never an odd number! So I just kinda brushed them off thinking that I am just going to make my garden the way I want and have both sides look the same, not odd!? Well I realized yesterday that when people were telling me about planting odd numbers it wasn't want I thought it meant! As you know I planted tulips last fall and now that they are coming up I'm not really happy about how sporadic they are popping up and how some have blooms and other's just look like grass leaves in my garden. Well, this is because I only planted one bulb per hole! ha ha And now I realize that I should have put and odd number of bulbs in one hole! ? DUH I thought they meant that instead of making my garden match I should throw in an odd number for esthetics's?! So I think that later this year (in the fall) I might buy some more tulip bulbs and try to remember where the ones are right now and add to them !?

Both Friday and Saturday was suppose to be racing but the weather wasn't very nice and of course after we drove all the way out there they ended up calling them!? grrr Gas prices keep going up, right now we are at $121.9/ litre!! It's crazy - no need for the price to keep going up! I wish my wage went up as much as everything else!

On Monday my brother's family and my hubby and I took my mom out for dinner. We went to The Cheesecake Cafe, their menu was huge and the selection of different cheesecakes even bigger! I thought the meal was good but the service was horrible!! We got there fairly early (4:30) to try and beat the rush but never even got our food till after 6!! We didn't get out of there till 7! Two and a half hours for supper is not acceptable! Especially with the kids there, they were OK for most of it but by 6:30 (just after supper got there) Kenzie had enough! She started getting cranky !! I don't blame her I was so hungry by the time supper got there that I think I ate it way too fast and got a tummy ache! Although the food was OK and the selection was huge I don't think we will be going back!

For all you worker's out there, Happy Friday! ;) It rained last night, I like when it rains during the night, it cools things off and waters all your plants! It still looks like it might rain more today and if it does then the Street Legal Races planned for tonight will be cancelled!

My girlfriend that was suppose to come over yesterday for a BBQ had a few complications and couldn't make it but instead Denise and her family came over for a quick visit. Their boy Evan sure is getting big and becoming quite the little man! It's neat to see all the changes from the last time we saw him. Hopefully my other girlfriend will be able to make it over today sometime!?

My holiday's are going good so far, too fast as usual but it's a nice break. I was looking at buying some annuals the other day cause I'm not sure when I will be able to have another weekend to plant flowers but they all looked ugly and not very unique?! I would like to get a few different flowers this year and get a few more perennials so I don't have to worry about buying new flowers every year. We are planning on going out for dinner with my mom and brother for a late mothers day dinner and I would also like to get a haircut before I go back to work. I can't wait to see my niece and nephew! :)

I can't believe how close I am to getting my 80lb bear! I thought it would start to take me longer to loose the weight I want and it has slowed down to a point but I just thought it would be a lot harder? I think NS is just what I needed to kick start my metabolism? To loose over 2lbs so close to my goal seems unheard of? I think my slight gain from the weekend was because my water intake wasn't the best but now that I am at home I am trying to drink water like crazy and it seemed to help.

My holidays are going good so far, yesterday I cleaned my car (inside and out) so it's nice and pretty now! And on Monday we visited my MIL and Mom to give them their mother's day gift's. Today my plans are to do a little house cleaning, dusting and bathrooms, and I want to put a clear coat on the bench/ picnic table I got from my inlaws as an early birthday present.

Tomorrow my girlfriend and her man friend are coming over for a BBQ, she is expecting and I haven't seen her since she made the announcement and wasn't even showing yet. So I'm a little excited to see how much her tummy has grown and to meet her new friend! ;) I'm trying to take it easy on my holidays and not work too hard so I'm catching up on all my daily TV shows that I usually can't watch cause I'm at work. The weather is nice and I think it is suppose to rain on Saturday but I think we are due for a good rain shower. So until Saturday I am making sure to do a little gardening, although I believe it is a little early still to plant any flowers (the general Canadian rule is not to plant until after May long weekend) it has been known to snow even after having +20C weather. My tulips are due to bloom soon and I am hoping to take some pics of them.

Well I suppose that's all for today! ? I will try and post again this week, but no gaurentees! ;)

Holidays start today! I thought I would just give you a little humour while I sit at home and relax! ;) My weekend was good, full of racing, I am awfully tired today and am glad I'm on holiday's -- I'm not sure what I'm going to do on a regular week when I have to go back to work Monday?!?! I felt like I followed my "diet" quite well on the weekend but when I snuck a peak at the scale this morning it didn't look too good? Maybe I wasn't on top of getting my 8 glasses of water? Or maybe it was too much bread from the hot dogs and veggie burger? I think today I will make sure I get all my water in plus more, and I plan on taking the dog for an afternoon walk. Because yesterday was Mother's Day and we were not around we need to do our visiting today, and fix my mom's computer ... again! Hope you enjoy the humour for today! ;)
